Carson Will, a PIAA Class AAA qualifier as a junior at Cumberland Valley this fall, carded a solid 4-over-par 75 at the Heritage Hills Golf Resort in fantastic fall weather Saturday in York County as he earned a victory in the 16-to-18 division in a Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour stop.
Will made birdies on the 10th and 16th holes and had 10 pars on his scorecard in claiming a Philly Junior Tour victory over a Heritage Hills layout that was home to the state tournament from 2002 to 2021.
Tim Croyle, a District One Class AAA qualifier as a junior at Pennridge this fall, had 11 pars on his card, including a strong of four straight pars from the sixth through the ninth holes, as he earned runnerup honors with an 80.
Everett Harrold, a junior on the Central York golf team, made a birdie on the 16th hole and had eight pars on his card as he finished in third place with an 82.
Harrold’s Central York teammate, sophomore Tony Gracey, finished a shot behind Harrold in fourth place with an 83 and Blake Shakal of Hershey was fifth with an 89.
Chase Wiggers, a junior at Westtown School and a Malvern resident, rounded out the field in the 16-to-18 division as he finished in sixth place with a 97.
Tyler Marshall of Marietta made birdies on the two par 3s on the incoming nine at Heritage Hills, the 12th and 15th holes, and had five pars on his scorecard as he finished at the top of the leaderboard in the 13-to-15 division with an 83.
Shea Henefer of Moorestown, N.J. had seven pars on his card as he finished two shots behind Marshall in second place with an 85.
Theodore Diamond of Lutherville-Timonium, Md. opened his round with a birdie at the first hole and had seven pars on his card as he finished a shot behind Henefer in third place with an 86.
Sy Kavitsky, a sophomore on the Neshaminy golf team, took fourth place with a 90, Max Straub, a freshman on the Lancaster Catholic golf team, and John Peyton of Wayne shared fifth, each signing for a 93, and Carter Weaver of Mohnton finished seventh with an 87.
Elliott Kang of North Wales rounded out the field in the 13-to-15 division as he finished in eighth place with a 105.
Damien Dollard of Cinnaminson, N.J. continued his roll on the Philly Junior Tour’s fall schedule as he had eight pars on his scorecard, opening his round with four straight pars and finishing his round with four straight pars, on his way to a 1-over 37 that bested the field of boys 12-and-under nine-holers.
It was the 16th win of the season for Dollard in a boys 12-and-under division that has been remarkably competitive.
Victor Wang of Hockessin, Del. and Jack Gilbert, a Bryn Mawr resident and the son of Gulph Mills Golf Club head pro Tom Gilbert, shared runnerup honors as each posted a 4-over 40.
Wang made a birdie at the par-4 second hole and had five pars on his card, including four straight pars to close out his round. Gilbert also made a birdie at the par-5 second hole and another at the tough, par-4 ninth and had two pars on his card.
Jaxson Freeborn of Reading took fourth place with a 41, Jonathan Thomas of Landenberg was fifth with a 42, Connor Michaels of Lancaster was sixth with a 44 and Grayson Wright of Philadelphia was seventh with a 45.
Kash Gray of Eagleville took eighth place with a 49, Noah Howard of Lafayette Hill was ninth with a 51 and Josiah Zimmerman of Camp Hill rounded out the field in the boys 12-and-under division as he finished 10th with a 52.
