Jake Julian of Malvern put together a solid 6-over-par 78 at Iron Valley Golf Club in Lebanon to capture a Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour victory in the 13-to-15 division Oct. 12th.
Julian had 12 pars on his scorecard, including a string of six straight pars from the second through the seventh holes, while recording the best score of the day among the guys on the challenging Iron Valley layout.
Bryce Bussom of Lewisburg made a birdie on the 13th hole and had 10 pars on his card, including a run of four pars in a row from three through six, as he earned runnerup honors, finishing a shot behind Julian with a 79.
Collin Padovani, a sophomore on the Northern Lebanon golf team, made a birdie on the 17th hole and had eight pars on his card as he finished in third place with an 82.
Owen Fanning of Gap took fourth place with an 85, Bryce Moyer of Bryn Mawr and Jack Shea of Harleysville shared fifth place, each signing for an 87, Steven Musacchio of Glenmoore was seventh with an 88 and Drew Gebhard, playing not far from his Lebanon home, was eighth with a 90.
Neil Ray of West Chester took ninth place with a 92 and John Wenzel of Maple Glen rounded out the top 10 in the 13-to-15 division with a 93.
Jackson Murland, a junior on the Friends’ Central golf team and a Villanova resident, made a birdie on the 17th hole and had two pars on his scorecard as he bested a short field in the 16-to-18 division with a 93.
Shane Cornell, a District One Class AAA qualifier as a junior on the Avon Grove golf team this fall, and Jaden Irvin, a junior on the Hershey High golf team, rounded out the field in the 16-to-18 division as they finished in a tie for second place, each ending up a shot behind Murland with a 94.
Cornell had five pars on his card, four of them on the outgoing nine at Iron Valley. Irvin got his round off to a good start with a birdie at the first hole and had two pars on his card.
Dean Matta of West Grove bested the field of boys 12-and-under nine-holers as he made a birdie on the fourth hole and had three pars on his scorecard while tallying a 5-over 41.
Damien Dollard of Cinnaminson, N.J. continued his strong run in recent weeks as he had four pars on his card to finish a shot behind Matta in second place with a 6-over 42. Dollard was coming off a tie for first place in the boys 12-and-under division in a Philly Junior Tour stop a day earlier at the Wild Quail Golf & Country Club in Wyoming, Del.
Jaxson Freeborn of Reading had three pars on his card as he finished in third place with a 44.
Andrew DElia of Clarks Summit and Michael Gratch of Oxford shared fourth place, each registering a 46 and Ryan Kaye of Lansdale was sixth with a 51.
Kash Gray of Eagleville took seventh place with a 53 and Beau Townend of Devon rounded out the field in the boys 12-and-under division as he finished eighth with a 55.
