Keegan Redmond, a sophomore at Hershey, conquered some chilly conditions to capture a Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour victory at Iron Valley Golf Club April 27th in Lebanon with a solid 2-over-par 74.
Redmond made birdies at the sixth and 16th holes and had 14 pars on his scorecard as he captured the top spot in the 16-to-18 division by four shots. Redmond had 11 of his pars and the birdie on the sixth hole while going 1-under for his first 12 holes.
Perkiomen Valley sophomore Alex Hall had a pair of eagles on his card, at the par-5 third and 16th holes, to go along with eight pars as he earned runnerup honors with a 6-over 78.
Kennett senior Kasim Narinesingh-Smith and Andrew Brendlinger, Hall’s classmate on the Perkiomen Valley golf team, finished in a tie for third place, each posting an 81.
Narinesingh-Smith, who capped a standout scholastic career last fall by earning a trip to the PIAA Class AAA Championship for a second straight season, had 11 pars on his card, including a run of eight straight from the second through the ninth holes to close out his front nine. Brendlinger also had 11 pars, eight of them on Iron Valley’s incoming nine.
Chase Dillman, a junior at Boyertown, took fifth place with an 84, Jonathan Breinich of Lititz was sixth with a 92 and Cody Sutcliffe of Plymouth Meeting was seventh with a 96.
Rounding out the field in the 16-to-18 division were Joseph Mannella of Havertown and Kasimere McManus of Quakertown as they finished in a tie for eighth place, each tallying a 101.
Vyom Shukla of Berwyn and Joseph Solt of Kunkletown shared first place in the 13-to-15 division, each recording an 83.
Shukla made birdies at the ninth and 16th holes and had seven pars on his scorecard. Solt’s steady round featured 11 pars, including five in a row from the 12th through the 16th holes.
Jackson Murland of Villanova and Lucas Kozak of Phoenixville finished in a tie for third place, each landing on 85. Murland made a birdie on the fifth hole and had eight pars on his card. Lucas Kozak had seven pars on his card.
Another member of Phoenixville’s Team Kozak, Gavin Kozak, finished alone in fifth place with an 88 and the trio of Tyler Boritz of Blue Bell, Tyler Myers of York and Chase Andrews of Harleysville ended up in a tie for sixth, each carding an 89.
Colin Burke of Wilmington, Del. took ninth place with a 90 and the trio of Charlie Sheehan of Lititz, Charlie Isler of West Chester and Danny Curran of Malvern rounded out the top 10 in the 13-to-15 division as they finished in a tie for 10th, each signing for a 92.
The best score among the girls came out of the 13-to-15 division as Bryn Brandt, playing not far from her Lebanon home, had five pars on her scorecard to take top honors among the younger girls with an 84.
Raegan Young of Middletown had three pars on her card as she earned runnerup honors in a short field in the 13-to-15 division with a 100.
Malaina Druffner of Downingtown finished at the top of the leaderboard in the 16-to-18 division as she closed out her round with a birdie at the 18th hole and had six pars on her scorecard on her way to a solid 88.
Nadia Yackanicz of Schwenksville had three pars on her card as she finished in second place among the older girls with a 104. Alina Cristino of Lititz rounded out the field in the 16-to-18 division as she took third place with a 128.
John (Jack) Shea of Harleysville had four pars on his scorecard as he bested the field of nine-holers with a 5-over 41.
Ryan Dungan of Warrington and Noah Howard of Lafayette Hill shared runnerup honors, each posting a 45 to finish four shots behind Shea. Dungan made a birdie at the fourth hole and four pars on his card and Howard had four pars on his card.
Connor Michaels of Lancaster took fourth place with a 48 and the Hockessin Del. pair of Patrick Thomas and Victor Wang joined Benjamin Adkins of Lewes, Del. as the trio finished in a tie for fifth, each landing on 50.
Kolton Vannoy of Phoenixville took eighth place with a 52, Jonathan Thomas of Landenberg was ninth with a 53 and Drew Gebhard, playing not far from his Lebanon home, rounded out the field in the coed 12-and-under division, finishing alone in 10th with a 54.
