The Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour had a stop at Indian Valley Country Club in Telford, where Montgomery County meets Bucks County, June 16th and the Souderton golf team was out in force.
Chase Andrews, a senior for the Big Red, claimed a Philly Junior Tour victory in the 16-to-18 division with a solid 1-over-par 73 and classmate Cole Henning and Declan Henry, a junior for Souderton, were Andrews’ closest competitors, finishing in a tie for second place among the older guys, each posting a 6-over 78.
After making a birdie at the eighth hole, Andrews really got it going on the incoming nine at Indian Valley with four straight birdies at 12, 13, 14 and 15. Andrews, a District One Class AAA qualifier last fall, had 10 pars on his scorecard, including four straight pars to open his round.
The birdie barrage on the back nine enabled Andrews to tour Indian Valley’s incoming nine in 3-under 33.
Henning also got it going on Indian Valley’s back nine as he made birdies at the 12th, 15th, 16th and 18th holes and had six pars on his card.
