Adrian Jordan of Lawrenceville, N.J. carded a solid 1-over-par 71 on a windy Halloween Sunday at Deerfield Golf Club in Newark, Del. to win the 16-to-18 division in a Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour stop Sunday.
Jordan made birdies on the second, sixth and 10th holes and had 11 pars on his scorecard, seven of them on his way to an even-par 35 on Deerfield’s incoming nine.
Evan Barbin the youngest of the talented Barbin brothers of Elkton, Md., had birdies on the 12th and 15th holes and had 10 pars on his card as he earned runnerup honors with a 4-over 74. Colin Drummond of Exton made a birdie at the fifth hole and had five pars on his card as he took third place with an 84.
Jacob Brady, playing close to his Newark, Del. home, took fourth place with an 85, Jack Mascolo of Doylestown was fifth with an 87, Benjamin Lawrence of Arnold, Md. was sixth with a 91 and Phillip Travaglini of Avondale was seventh with a 92.
James Bradley of Glen Mills landed in eighth place with a 95, Ethan Mercer of Lewes, Del. was ninth with a 98 and Darius Laws of Wilmington, Del. rounded out the 16-to-18 division field as he finished in 10th place with a 99.
For the second time over the weekend, John Curran of Malvern earned a share of the top spot in the 13-to-15 division, this time landing atop the leaderboard with Evan Gebhart of Magnolia, Del., each signing for a 10-over 80.
Curran, who shared a victory in Saturday’s Philly Junior Tour stop at Berkleigh Golf Club, made a birdie at the fifth hole and had eight pars on his scorecard. Gebhart picked up a birdie at Deerfield’s closing hole and also had eight pars on his card.
Michael Dignazio of Wilmington, Del. and Tyler Sikorski of Lincoln University shared third place, each registering an 85. Dignazio birdied the 13th hole and had six pars on his scorecard while Sikorski finished with five pars on his card.
Jimmy Campbell of Wilmington, Del. took fifth place with a 91, Parker Hayter of Hockessin, Del. was sixth with a 93 and Daniel Cantwell of Moorestown, N.J. was seventh with a 94.
A couple more Wilmington guys, Rudy Mench and Evan Zakielarz finished in eighth and ninth place with respective scores of 96 and 107. Zachery Whittaker of Middletown, Del. rounded out the 13-to-15 division field as finished alone in 10th place with a 109.
Kayla Benson had six pars on her way to a steady 88 that gave her a victory in the girls 13-to-15 division. Isabella Magno of Delran, N.J. was the runnerup in a two-girl field as she carded a 110.
Trevor Sieben of Medford, N.J. had a steady round of 3-over 38 that featured seven pars as he bested the field of nine-holers. It was Sieben’s 13th win in 37 Philly Junior Tour starts in 2021.
Lawson Leeper of York claimed runnerup honors with a 41 that included four pars. Leeper shared runnerup honors in Saturday’s Philly Junior Tour at Berkleigh. Tyler Whitney of Cherry Hill, N.J. finished in third place as he had two pars on his way to a 44.
Ian Rotto of Kennett Square took fourth place with a 50, Sarah Stumacher of Gladwyne and Ben Meixell of Wilmington, Del. shared fifth place, each landing on 53, and Matthew LeGrow, another Wilmington entry, was seventh with a 55.
Anderson Brexler of Doylestown took eighth place with a 56, Gabriela Magno, another member of Team Magno from Delran, N.J., and Brady Ward of King of Prussia finished in a tie for ninth place, each posting a 60 and Patrick Thomas of Hockessin, Del. rounded out the coed 12-and-under division field, finishing 11th with a 62.
