Jaden Weisman of Malvern posted a 4-over-par 76 Saturday to
take a five-shot lead in the boys’ 15-to-19 division after the opening round of
the International Junior Golf Tour’s Pennsylvania Junior at Blue Ridge Country
Club.
Weisman had four birdies to offset three bogeys and two
double bogeys over the 6,650-yard, par-72 Blue Ridge layout.
Luke Sample of New York, N.Y. and Douglas Beney of Rye, N.Y.
shared second place heading into Sunday’s final round, each carding a 79.
Garrett Engle of Harrisburg is alone in fourth with an 81 and Tyler Wassell of
Lancaster and Jake Aaron of Harrisburg are tied for fifth at 93.
On the girls side, Kendel Abrams of New Freedom leads the way
after posting a 79. Abrams had three birdies over a Blue Ridge course that
measures 5,800 yards for the girls.
Amanda Steier of Greencastle sits in second place with a 94,
Mary Kate Norcross of Chambersburg is third with a 94, Ellen Lee of Allendale,
N.J. is fourth with a 101 and Jennifer McCray of Union, N.J. is fifth with a
102.
