Junior Caprian Kan has been playing well scholastically all
season at Chichester and continues to put up some nice numbers on the weekends
on the Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour.
Kan fired a 6-over 78 at Patriots Glen National Golf Club in
Elkton, Md. Sunday to easily best Lily Byrne
of Downingtown, who had a 91, for the top spot in the 13-to-15 division. Kan’s effort over the 5,425-yard, par-72
Patriots Glen layout was her third round in the 70s this year on the Junior
Tour.
Former Episcopal Academy standout Joe Chambers birdied the
final two holes for a back-nine 35 that gave him a first-place finish in the boys
16-to-18 division with a 3-over 75. It was the first Junior Tour win of the
year for Chambers.
Akhil Giri of Moorestown, N.J., won the 13-to-15 division
with a 4-over 76. Also in the division, Jack Cooley of Chadds Ford finished in
a tie for sixth with an 87, Jackson Fields of Glen Mills finished 10th
