Garno matches par at Biderman to claim Junior Tour victory



   Haverford School sophomore Peter Garno had five birdies on his card on his way to an even-par 72 that gave him a Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour 13-to-15 division victory at Biderman Golf Club in Winterthur, Del. Monday.
   Garno needed every one of those birdies as he finished a shot ahead of Richard Kline III of Kennett Square and Ryan D’Ariano of West Chester, who shared second place at 73. Alec Ryden of Moorestown, N.J. and Nikita Romanov of Wilmington, Del. shared fourth place, each carding a 75.
   Alex Mulrooney of Wilmington, Del. finished alone in sixth place with a 77. Morgan Lofland of Paoli and Christopher Skean of Kennett Square shared seventh place at 78. Andrew Koh of Dresher finished ninth with an 80. Rounding out the top 10 were two players – Wesley Saunders of Chadds Ford and William Bennink of Kennett Square – who finished tied for ninth at 81.
   Ryan Jacobs topped the 16-to-18 division field with a 4-over 76 that included an eagle at the 15th hole and two birdies. Matthew Chalupa of Landenberg and Kaden Kinard of New Castle, Del. shared second place, each posting a 79.
   Ryan Tall of Collegeville finished fourth and Dylan Sterlacci of Downingtown was fifth with an 81. Alex VanScoy of Newark, Del. and Tyler Mayhew of Middletown, Del. shared sixth place at 82.
Ryan McHugh of Yorklyn, Del. took eighth with an 83 and Nathan Potts of Wilmington, Del and Joe Polidoro of Glassboro, N.J. rounded out the top 10 as they finished tied for ninth at 84.
   Brianna Marmorstein, who helped Notre Dame complete a seventh straight unbeaten run through the Inter-Ac League last spring as a sophomore, carded an 82 to take top honors in the girls 16-to-18 division. Marmorstein opened with three straight pars to get her round going.
   Casey Oppenheimer of Conshohocken was the runnerup with an 86. Natalie Jacobs of West Chester finished third with an 89 and Elise Glauser of Newark, Del. and Liv Juliana of Malvern shared fourth placed at 90.
   Grace Lombardi of Bear, Del. placed sixth with a 99 and Sera McClintock of West Chester and Kelly Brown of Coatesville shared seventh place at 124.
   Grace Wang of Belle Mead, N.J. was 1-under after two holes on her way to an 88 that gave her the victory in the 13-to-15 division. Victoria Kim of West Chester was the runnerup with a 90 and Olivia Schwandt of Wilmington, Del. took third with a 98.
   Evan Barbin of Elkton, Md. bested the field of nine-holers with a 1-over 37. Barbin opened his round with a birdie at the first. Win Thomas of Coatesville was the runnerup with a 39.
   Matthew Homer of Wilmington, Del. finished alone in third place with a 43. Three players – Christopher Buysse of Paoli, Henry Stone of Kennett Square and Kristof Kopecky of Garnet Valley – shared fourth place at 48.
   Jeffrey Homer and Anthony Ciconte, both of Wilmington, Del., finished in a tie for seventh, each carding a 52. Chase Marinacci of Elverson and Josephine Wellons of Montchanin, Del. rounded out the top 10 as they finished in a tie for ninth at 56.
