Curran takes second in Junior Tour stop at Radley Run



   Andrew Curran of Media carded a 3-over 75 to finish second in the 13-to-15 division in a Philadelphia PGA Junior Tour stop Monday at Radley Run Country Club.
    Curran finished a shot back of Jacob Macinanti of Lancaster, who had a 2-over 74 over the 6,290-yard, par-72 Radley Run layout.
   Also in the division, Eric Gaver of Chadds Ford finished in a tie for seventh with an 81, Samuel Walker of Radnor finished in a tie for 24th with an 84, D.J. Colleran of Radnor was another shot back in 17th with an 85, Wesley Saunders of Chadds Ford and Blake Stephano of Radnor were among four players tied for 23rd with 93s and James Quinn of Radnor was another two shots back in 27th with a 95.
   Ryan Smith of Hamburg won the 16-to-18 division in a match of cards with Andy Ring of Abington after they both posted 78s.
   Jimmy Murray of Springfield finished ninth with an 82, Ryan Conway of Radnor placed 13th with an 84 and Conor Rinehart of Radnor was another two shots back in 14th with an 86.
   Among the nine-holers, Joshua Ryan of Norristown topped the field with a 40. Roy Anderson of Chadds Ford finished in a tie for second with a 45, Kristof Kopecky was fourth with a 48 and Chase Stephano of Radnor finished in a tie for 10th with a 56.
   Casey Oppenheimer of Conshohocken took top honors in the girls 13-to-15 division with a 97. Nina Kouchi bested the 16-to-18 field with a 74, five shots better than Samantha Staudt, the two-time PIAA qualifier from Coatesville.

Co-champions in Father & Son (Younger)

   Bob and Bobby Beck of Lehigh Country Club and The Bucks Club’s Ben and Barry Wiseman shared top honors in the Golf Association of Philadelphia’s Father & Son (Younger) championship held July 2 at Philmont Country Club.
   The two teams each carded 5-over 75 totals in the select drive-alternate shot format over the 6,250-yard, par-70 Philmont layout.
   Among other finishers in the junior division were the Overbrook Golf Club pair of Michael O’Neill and Michael O’Neill III (84), the Overbrook duo of Peter and Ryan Susanin (87), the Paxon Hollow Golf Club team of Michael Shevlin Sr. and Michael Shevlin Jr. (91) and the Rolling Green Golf Club pair of Michael and Mike Benar (103).
   In the junior-junior division, Bill Civitella of Aronimink Golf Club and Kevin Civitella of Phoenixville Country Club teamed up to finish second with a 78, three shots back of the Wilmington Country Club pair of Randy and Mitchell Colman, who captured division honors.
   Franny and Ryan McCabe of The Springhaven Club were another shot back in a tie for third with a 79.
   Also in the division, Charles and Case Hummer of Aronimink posted an 81, Jeff and Jack Fialko of Aronimink had an 82, Alex and Gregory Hanna of Overbrook Golf Club came in with an 85 and Rob and Robbie Moses of Concord C.C. carded a 97.
   Look for more GAP results from the Francis X. Hussey Memorial at Rolling Green and the 69th annual Caddie Tournament and a Philadelphia PGA Junior Tour stop at Pennsauken Country Club in which a couple of Radnor golfers figure prominently in Tom McNichol’s Golf Notebook in the Saturday Daily Times.
