Sieben back in the groove with a Philly Junior Tour victory at Chesapeake Bay

Trevor Sieben of Medford, N.J. was the Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour’s Player of the Year in the 13-to-15 division in 2023 with four wins and 15 top-10 finishes.

Sieben picked up right where he left off Sunday by claiming a Philly Junior Tour victory with a 4-over-par 75 in a stop at the Chesapeake Bay Golf Club in Rising Sun, Md.

Sieben made birdies on the fourth and 18th holes and had 10 pars on his scorecard. His routinely solid round left Sieben atop the leaderboard in the 13-to-15 division, but it was also the low round in both the boys divisions.

It was a chilly start to the day and the winds weren’t quite as brisk as they were at the Philly Junior Tour stop Saturday at Bensalem Township Country Club. The temperature warmed up and the wind dialed back as the day wore on, but conditions were still challenging.

Ian Rotto of Kennett Square, one of the top players in the coed 12-and-under division last year, stepped right up into the 13-and-under division as he made birdies at the third and 10th holes and had eight pars on his card as he earned runnerup honors with a solid 8-over 79.

Tyler Baritz of Blue Bell went back-to-back with birdies at the 12th and 13th holes and had six pars on his card as  he took third place with an 81.

Cole Henning of Harleysville took fourth place with an 82, Brendan Schott of Wilmington, Del. and Charlie Isler of West Chester shared fifth, each signing for an 86 and Michael White of Springfield finished alone in seventh with an 87.

Braydon Jakatt of Coatesville and Braydon Dolan of Springfield, Ind. shared eighth place, each recording a 90 and Chase Andrews of Harleysville rounded out the top 10 in the 13-to-15 division, finishing 10th with a 91.

Andrew Rindgen of Havertown has been getting in contention on the Philly Junior Tour leaderboards in the early going this spring, but this  time he landed at the top of the 16-to-18 leaderboard at Chesapeake Bay as he made a birdie on the 17th hole and had 11 pars on his scorecard, seven of them on the outgoing nine, while tallying a 5-over 76.

Unionville junior Michael Keller, a member of the Longhorns’ District One Class AAA championship team last fall, finished up with a birdie at the 18th hole and had 12 pars on his card, seven of them on the front nine, as he earned runnerup honors with a 6-over 77 that left him a shot behind Rindgen.

Kennett senior Kasim Narinesingh-Singh, who earned a trip to the PIAA Class AAA Championship for the second straight fall in October, and Michael Dignazio, a member of Tower Hill School’s state championship team in Delaware last spring, finished in a tie for third place, each posting a 79.

Narinesingh-Smith made a birdie at the sixth hole and had 11 pars on his card while Dignazio’s steady round was highlighted by 11 pars, including eight straight to close out his round.

Zach Raihill of West Chester and Brandon Harrigan of Warrington shared fifth place, each tallying an 81 and Archmere Academy sophomore Michael Liu finished alone in seventh with an 82.

Strath Haven sophomore Luca Kleinschmidt and Malvern Prep sophomore Harry Traynor ended up in a tie for eighth place, each registering an 86, and Noah Vari of Newark, Del. rounded out the top 10 in the 16-to-18 division as he finished 10th with an 87.

The best score among the girls at Chesapeake Bay also came out of the younger 13-to-15 division as Corinne McReynolds, a member of Conestoga’s District One Class AAA championship team as a freshman last fall, got hot on the back nine with three birdies in a four-hole stretch to claim a Philly Junior Tour victory with an 85.

McReynolds made birdies at the 12th, 14th and 15th holes and had six pars on her scorecard.

Gabrielle Kim of Ambler had three pars on her card as she earned runnerup honors with a 95. Isha Garg of Berlin, Md. made a birdie at the 12th hole and had two pars on her card as she finished in third place with a 97.

Rounding out the field in the 13-to-15 division was Hadley Stetson of Newtown Square as she finished in fourth place with a 121.

Julia Hashem of Coatesville made a birdie on the fifth hole and had four pars on her scorecard as she claimed top honors in the 16-to-18 division with a 94.

Keira Conner of Ridley Park rounded out a short field of older girls as she made a par on the 17th hole on her way to a 109 and a second-place finish.

Baylor Keim of Blue Bell made a birdie on the seventh hole and had two pars on the scorecard while besting the field of nine-holers with a 5-over 40.

Patrick Thomas of Hockessin, Del. rattled off three straight pars at the fifth, sixth and seventh holes on his way to a 45 that earned him runnerup honors.

It was a three-way logjam for third place as David Gilman of Cape May Court House, Mason Arnold of Ambler and Jaxson Refold of Bryn Mawr finished in a tie, each signing for a 46.

Gilman made a birdie at the sixth hole and had two pars on his card and Arnold and Refold each had two pars on his card.

Victor Wang of Hockessin, Del. took sixth place with a 48, Conner Michaels of Lancaster was seventh with a 52 and Kolton Vannoy of Phoenixville rounded out the field in the coed 12-and-under division as he finished eighth with a 58.
