Jack Habeeb of Scranton carded a 1-over-par 73 Tuesday to capture the
16-to-18 division in a Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour stop at Indian
Valley Country Club in Telford.
Habeeb was coming off a solid performance a day earlier as
he teamed with Daniel Hinton Monday to finish tied for sixth at even-par 71 in
the Golf Association of Philadelphia’s Francis X. Hussey Memorial at Rolling
Green Golf Club.
Habeeb had two birdies on the front nine to fuel his strong
outing over the 6,355-yard, par-72 Indian Valley layout. Ryan Tall, the Central
League champion at Conestoga last fall, and Shaun Fedor of Lancaster finished
tied for second, each carding a 3-over 75.
Brandon Gregg of North Wales finished fourth with a 76,
Carter Valerio of Rosemont was fifth with a 77, Jack Murray of Pottstown was
sixth at 78 and John Cooper of Lansdale was seventh at 79.
Rounding out the top 10 were four players tied for eighth at
80, including Haverford School junior David Hurly of Newtown Square, Ben
Wiseman of New Hope, Evan Casey of Chalfont and Evan Kreiser of Telford.
Tyler Zimmer of Bryn Mawr matched par on the front nine at
Indian Valley with a 36 on his way to a 4-over 76 that gave him the top spot in
the 13-to-15 division. Jack Hamilton of Wayne and Morgan Lofland of Paoli were
a shot behind Zimmer in a tie for second, each carding a 77.
Chase Cohen of Villanova and Dylan Gooneratne of Plymouth
Meeting shared fourth place at 79. Radnor sophomore Davis Flannery, Nick Martin
of Audubon, William Pabst of Roaring Brook Township and Jack Penwell of Enola
finished tied for sixth at 81.
Rounding out the top 10 were Jake Maddaloni of Newtown
Square and Noah Sim of Ambler, who finished in a tie for 10th, each
posting an 84.
Jessica McClellan of Freeland carded a 91 to capture the top
spot in the girls 16-to-18 division, her second win in her last three Junior
Tour starts. Courtney Caiola of Schwenksville was the runnerup with a 93.
Helen Shaw of Harleysville finished third with a 98, Katie
Pupillo of Skippack was fourth at 105 and Megan Noll of Malvern was fifth at
133.
Molly Gregor of North Wales had a steady round that included
six pars as she was the winner in the 13-to-15 division with an 89. Ava
O’Sullivan of Exton was the runnerup with a 95 and Madilyn Siuta of Quakertown
was third with a 97.
Angelina Tolentino of Mount Laurel, N.J. also had six pars
in nine holes as she continued her strong play this summer with a 3-over 39
that bested the field of nine-holers. Kevin Lafond of Blue Bell, Nicholas Joyce
of Quakertown and Connor Gherghel of Orwigsburg shared second place, each
posting a 41.
Ethan Martin of North Wales finished fifth with a 48 and
Fiona Gooneratne of the Plymouth Meeting Gooneratnes took sixth with a 50.
Megan Adelman of Bryn Mawr finished seventh with a 52,
another of the Gooneratne contingent, Rhianna, was eighth with a 53 and Rachel
Joyce of the Quakertown Joyces was ninth with a 62.
