Jackson Lane of Cinnaminson, N.J., playing in the 13-to-15 division, had the best score of the day, a 4- over-par 75, over a tough Scotland Run Golf Club layout in Williamstown, N.J. in some howling winds June 24th to claim a Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour victory.
Lane made birdies at the 11th and 17th holes and had 10 pars on his scorecard to finish at the top of the leaderboard among the younger guys by a shot.
Judd Fletcher of Moorestown, N.J. made back-to-back birdies at the 14th and 15th holes and had nine pars on his card, seven of them on Scotland Run’s outgoing nine, as he earned runnerup honors in the 13-to-15 division with a 5-over 76.
Spring-Ford sophomore Michael Gravinese, coming off a Philly Junior Tour victory less than a week earlier at Indian Valley Country Club, finished five shots behind Fletcher in third place with an 81. Gravinese had eight pars on his card.
Tyler Whitney of Cherry Hill, N.J. and Rayan Shah of Newtown ended up in a tie for fourth place, each posting an 82 and Tyler Harris of Cinnaminson, N.J. and Gus Stoltzfus of Lincoln University shared sixth place, each tallying an 83.
Henry Nowak of Wilmington, Del. took eight place with an 84, Scott Cunningham of Wayne was ninth with an 85 and Haverford School sophomore Jack Luterman rounded out the top 10 as he finished alone in 10th with an 86.
Justin Forman of Sewell, N.J. made birdies on the 14th and 18th holes and had 11 pars on his scorecard as he claimed a Philly Junior Tour victory in the 16-to-18 division with a 5-over 76.
Gavin McCloskey, playing close to his Williamstown, N.J. home, opened his round with a birdie at the first hole, went back-to-back with birdies at 15 and 16 and had seven pars on his card as he finished a shot behind Forman in second place with a 6-over 77.
Tyler Kulik of Mount Royal, N.J. and Brian Cotter of Cherry Hill, N.J. finished in a tie for third place, each signing for an 80. Kulik made a birdie at the 17th hole and had eight pars on his card and Cotter made birdies at the first, 16th and 17th holes and had four pars on his card.
Alex Henbest of Manahawkin, N.J. took fifth place with an 81, Michael Acchione of Sewell, N.J. was sixth with an 82, Chase Adomaitis of Egg Harbor Township, N.J. was seventh with an 83 and Harriton junior Carson Deringer was eighth with an 84.
Rounding out the top 10 in the 16-to-18 division were Matthew Smith of Hammonton, N.J. and Beau Riviere of Philadelphia as they finished in a tie for ninth place, each registering an 85.
The best score among the girls at Scotland Run also emerged from the 13-to-15 division as Emily Maurer of Mount Laurel, N.J. made back-to-back birdies at the 15th and 16th holes and had two pars on her scorecard on her way to an 88 that gave her a Philly Junior Tour victory.
Madison Cabot of Newtown had four pars on her card as she finished two shots behind Maurer in second place with a 90.
Christine St. Pierre of Yardley rounded out a short field in the 13-to-15 division as she made a par on the 14th hole on her way to a 116 while finishing in third place.
Recent Conestoga graduate Brynne Mushlin had six pars on her scorecard as she finished atop the leaderboard in the 16-to-18 division with a 93. Mushlin helped the Pioneers capture the District One Class AAA team crown last fall.
Nicole Tarquinio of Bridgeton, N.J. earned runnerup honors with a 106 and Lilly Reagan of Philadelphia rounded out the field in the 16-to-18 division as she finished in third place with a 141.
Eric Cunningham, another member of Wayne’s Team Cunningham, made birdies on the 10th and 18th holes and had four pars on his scorecard as he bested the field of nine-holers with a solid 2-over 38.
Baylor Keim of Blue Bell made a birdie at the 15th hole and had a par at 13 as he earned runnerup honors with a 46.
Ryan Comly of Newtown Square had two pars on his card as he finished in third place with a 48.
Jonathan Thomas of Landenberg took fourth place with a 50 and Stephen Comly III, another member of Newtown Square’s Team Comly, finished fifth with a 52.
Grayson McCann of Downingtown rounded out the field in the coed 12-and-under division as he finished in sixth place with a 54.
