Clark, Fargnoli get a share of the top spot in Junior Tour stop at Odessa National

    Drew Clark of Kennett Square and Joseph Fargnoli of Mickleton, N.J. each carded a solid 3-over-par 75 at Odessa National Golf Club in Townsend, Del. to share top honors in the 16-to-18 division as the Philadelphia Section Junior Tour’s fall swing teed off on a gorgeous September Saturday.

   Clark had bridies on the 10th, 11th and 18th holes and nine pars on his scorecard. Clark opened his round with seven straight pars and eight of his nine pars were on Odessa National’s front nine. Fargnoli had birdies on the fourth and seventh holes and had 12 pars on his card.

   Brady Manning of Downingtown birdied the sixth hole and had 10 pars on his scorecard as he finished alone in third place with an 81.

   Leo McTaggart of Wilmington, Del. took fourth place with an 85, Matthew Dietl of Glenmoore was a shot behind McTaggart in fifth with an 86, Jack Ebert of Bryn Mawr was sixth with an 87 and Ethan Mercer of Lewes, Del. was seventh with an 89.

   Jacob Littleton of Williamstown, N.J. finished in eighth place with a 93 and Darius Laws of Wilmington, Del. rounded out the field in the 16-to-18 division as he ended up ninth with a 98.

   Callahan Harrell of York had five birdies on his way to a 5-over 77 that gave him a victory in the 13-to-15 division. Harrell made birdies on the fourth, 10th, 12th, 16th and 18th holes and had six pars on his scorecard.

   Three players – Noah Wallace of Elkton, Md., Andrew Ekstrom of York, and Evan Gebhart of Magnolia, Del. – finished in a tie for second place, each landing on 80. Wallace had 10 pars, including eight straight from the second through the ninth holes, Ekstrom made back-to-back birdies at the 15th and 16th holes and had eight pars on his card and Gebhart made a birdie on the 12th hole and recorded 10 pars.

   Michael Dignazio of Wilmington, Del. finished alone in fifth place with an 84 and Nolan Richardson of Malvern, Sebastian Botero of Abington and Nathan Smith of Crumpton, Md. shared sixth place, each signing for an 85.

   Alec Hamilton of Clarks Summit ended up alone in ninth place with an 88 and Justin Forman of Sewell, N.J. and Rudy Mench of Wilmington, Del., rounded out the top 10 among the younger guys as they finished in a tie for 10th, each registering a 91.

   Kayla Brosius of Magnolia, Del. had a steady round of 82 that featured 10 pars as she captured a victory in the girls 16-to-18 division. Curstan Bunch of Wilmington, Del. was the runnerup in a short field of older girls as she had 10 pars, including five straight from the third through the seventh holes, as she was just a shot behind Brosius with an 83.

   Reagan Garnsey of Camden Wyoming, Del. matched Brosius’ 82 to finish atop the leaderboard in the 13-to-15 division. Garnsey had birdies at the second and fourth holes and then made an eagle at the par-5 fifth hole to get it to 3-under early in her round. Garnsey had eight pars on her scorecard, but had a couple of tough holes on the incoming nine.

   Kellyanne Simmons of Townsend, Del. had four pars as she was the runnerup with a 91. Kylie Yiengst of Wyoming, Del. had seven pars as she rounded out the field of younger girls, finishing in third place with a 94.

   Trevor Sieben of Medford, N.J. birdied the sixth hole and had seven pars on his scorecard as he posted a solid even-par 36 to best the field of nine-holers.

   Holden Sparks of Nazareth and Carson Jakuc of Newtown Square finished six shots behind Sieben in a tie for second place, each signing for a 42. Sparks birdied the second hole and had four pars on his scorecard and Jakuc had four pars on his card.

   Katherine Liu of Moorestown, N.J. took fourth place with a 46, Liam Crowley of Wayne was fifth with a 47, Chase Ditel of Gap was sixth with a 49 and Kemble Wellons of Montchanin, Del. was seventh with a 50.

   Nicholas Fargnoli, another member of Team Fargnoli of Mickleton, N.J., Dahila Garnick of Wilmington, Del. and Vyom Shukla of Berwyn finished in a tie for eighth place, each carding a 51. Anna Firko of Wilmington, Del. rounded out the field in the coed 12-and-under division with a 57 that left her in 11th place.
