Debusschere gets it going at Back Creek to earn a Junior Tour victory

Strath Haven sophomore Tyler Debusschere played in a lot of Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour events last fall when various issues concerning the coronavirus pandemic conspired to limit the scholastic golf season, ultimately denying Central League players from competing in the PIAA’s postseason.

Tyler Debusschere made the most of his one opportunity to shine on the scholastic scene as he finished fourth when the Central League finally put together a championship at Downingtown Country Club after the PIAA Championship was already in the books and teamed with older brother Jackson and the rest of the Panthers to capture the team crown. The Central League crowned both the dual-match and tournament winners as champions for 2020.

Tyler Debusschere found that groove he was in last fall in a Mother’s Day stop on the Philly Junior Tour at Back Creek Golf Club in Middletown, Del., carding the best score of the day among the guys, a 2-over-par 73, to finish atop the 13-to-15 leaderboard.
