Habeeb posts 1-over 73 for Junior Tour victory at Indian Valley

Jack Habeeb of Scranton carded a 1-over-par 73 Tuesday to capture the 16-to-18 division in a Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour stop at Indian Valley Country Club in Telford.
Habeeb was coming off a solid performance a day earlier as he teamed with Daniel Hinton Monday to finish tied for sixth at even-par 71 in the Golf Association of Philadelphia’s Francis X. Hussey Memorial at Rolling Green Golf Club.
Habeeb had two birdies on the front nine to fuel his strong outing over the 6,355-yard, par-72 Indian Valley layout. Ryan Tall, the Central League champion at Conestoga last fall, and Shaun Fedor of Lancaster finished tied for second, each carding a 3-over 75.
Brandon Gregg of North Wales finished fourth with a 76, Carter Valerio of Rosemont was fifth with a 77, Jack Murray of Pottstown was sixth at 78 and John Cooper of Lansdale was seventh at 79.
Rounding out the top 10 were four players tied for eighth at 80, including Haverford School junior David Hurly of Newtown Square, Ben Wiseman of New Hope, Evan Casey of Chalfont and Evan Kreiser of Telford.
Tyler Zimmer of Bryn Mawr matched par on the front nine at Indian Valley with a 36 on his way to a 4-over 76 that gave him the top spot in the 13-to-15 division. Jack Hamilton of Wayne and Morgan Lofland of Paoli were a shot behind Zimmer in a tie for second, each carding a 77.
Chase Cohen of Villanova and Dylan Gooneratne of Plymouth Meeting shared fourth place at 79. Radnor sophomore Davis Flannery, Nick Martin of Audubon, William Pabst of Roaring Brook Township and Jack Penwell of Enola finished tied for sixth at 81.
Rounding out the top 10 were Jake Maddaloni of Newtown Square and Noah Sim of Ambler, who finished in a tie for 10th, each posting an 84.
Jessica McClellan of Freeland carded a 91 to capture the top spot in the girls 16-to-18 division, her second win in her last three Junior Tour starts. Courtney Caiola of Schwenksville was the runnerup with a 93.
Helen Shaw of Harleysville finished third with a 98, Katie Pupillo of Skippack was fourth at 105 and Megan Noll of Malvern was fifth at 133.
Molly Gregor of North Wales had a steady round that included six pars as she was the winner in the 13-to-15 division with an 89. Ava O’Sullivan of Exton was the runnerup with a 95 and Madilyn Siuta of Quakertown was third with a 97.
Angelina Tolentino of Mount Laurel, N.J. also had six pars in nine holes as she continued her strong play this summer with a 3-over 39 that bested the field of nine-holers. Kevin Lafond of Blue Bell, Nicholas Joyce of Quakertown and Connor Gherghel of Orwigsburg shared second place, each posting a 41.
Ethan Martin of North Wales finished fifth with a 48 and Fiona Gooneratne of the Plymouth Meeting Gooneratnes took sixth with a 50.
Megan Adelman of Bryn Mawr finished seventh with a 52, another of the Gooneratne contingent, Rhianna, was eighth with a 53 and Rachel Joyce of the Quakertown Joyces was ninth with a 62.
