McCabe a repeat winner in Junior Tour stop at Avalon

Ryan McCabe of Media carded a 4-over-par 75 to capture the title in the 13-to-15 division in a Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour stop at Avalon Golf Club at the Jersey shore Tuesday.
A quick check of last year’s T Mac Tees Off posts reveals that it is the second year in a row that McCabe has won his division at Avalon and he claimed the title with a 75 as well last year. Tuesday, he made two birdies on the 6,272-yard, par-71 Avalon layout in claiming his first Junior Tour win of the season.
Jackson Putney of Egg Harbor Township, N.J. was awarded the silver medal in a match of cards with Jack Fialko of Berwyn after each posted a 9-over 80.
Nicky Scarpone of Broomall and Jake Maddaloni of Newtown Square finished in a tie for fourth at 82 and three more players – Jack Ross of Medford Lakes, N.J., Jack Davis of Newtown Square and Kevin Motil of Sewell, N.J. – shared sixth place at 84. Peter Banfe of Moorestown, N.J. finished ninth with an 85 and Ryan Kennedy of Wayne rounded out the top 10 with an 86.
Christopher Colman of Wenonah, N.J. had four birdies in a 6-over 77 that gave him a victory in the 16-to-18 division, his first Junior Tour win. Nathan Potts of Wilmington, Del. was the runnerup with a steady 78 that featured nine pars.
Jack McCarthy of Landenberg finished third with a 79, Troy Matty of Bensalem was fourth with an 80 and Nicholas Campanelli of Manahawkin, N.J. was fifth with an 81.
Shaun Glenn of Philadelphia finished sixth with an 82, Alec Ryden of Moorestown, N.J. was seventh with an 83, Ben Blewitt of Wilmington, Del. was eighth with a 92, Jeffery Bozzi of Newtown Square was ninth with a 93 and Christian McKernan of Yardley rounded out the top 10 with a 114.
Brianna Marmorstein, who wrapped up her junior season at Notre Dame with a fourth-place finish in the Inter-Ac League Championship last month, captured the girls 16-to-18 division with an 89 that featured a birdie at the 11th.
Josie Genuardi of Kulpsville was the runnerup with a 94 and Ciara Morrissey of Huntingdon Valley took third with a 114.
Olivia Strigh of Hammonton, N.J. took top honors in the 13-to-15 division with an 83 that was highlighted by a birdie at the par-5 seventh hole. Peyton Kraras of Wyomissing was the runnerup with a 109.
Hunter Probst of Bear Creek captured top honors among the nine-holers with a 10-over 46 for his third Junior Tour victory of the 2016-17 season. Gwendolyn Powell of Madison Township was a shot back in second with a 47.
