Reading’s Alex Seelig made five birdies in a round of 2-over
74 over a tough Galen Hall Golf Club course Sunday to win the 13-to-15 division
in a Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour stop in Wernersville, Berks County.
The Galen Hall stop was originally scheduled for the spring,
but it was snowed out. Sunday was perfect day for golf and Seelig made the most
of it over the 6,290-yard, par-72 Galen Hall layout in cruising to a 10-shot
victory. Clay Breidenstine of Hummelstown was the runnerup with an 84.
Mario Ventresca III of Blue Bell finished third with a 91,
Leo Brunk of Newtown placed fourth with a 92, Thomas Wagner of Reading was
fifth with a 94, Elijah Ruppert of Fleetwood was sixth with a 101, Michael Hall
of Mountain Top was seventh with a 106 and Sean Kearney of Hatfield was eighth
with a 110.
Nikita Romanov of Wilmington, Del. had three birdies in a
round of 3-over 75 to take top honors in the 16-to-18 division. Logan Hess of
Willow Street was the runnerup with a 77.
Dylan Audi of Sinking Spring finished third with an 80,
Timothy Chaykosky Jr. of Ambler placed fourth with an 82, Jack Sullivan of
Petersburg, N.J. finished fifth with an 83, Andrew Koh of Dresher was sixth
with an 89, Alex Mayernik of Columbus, N.J. was seventh with a 93, Jackson
Wagner of Reading was eighth with a 94 and Daniel Bullock of Wayne was ninth
with a 95.allo
Alexandra Lowder of Wrightsville won the girls 16-to-18
division with a 91 that featured a run of three pars in a row on the front nine.
Sara Hall of Mountain Top was the runnerup with a 109.
Kate Green of Bryn Mawr was the only entrant in the 13-to-15
division and took the title with a 129. Hall finished her round with a par on
the tough par-5 18th hole.
John Wang of Wilmington, Del. bested the field of
nine-holers with a 3-over 40 for his second win of the weekend. Wang birdied
the par-3 seventh. Nicholas Gross of Downingtown was the runnerup with a 43.
Benjamin Saggers of West Chester and Sawyer Marten of East
Petersburg finished in a tie for third, each carding a 45. Henry Stone of
Kennett Square took fifth with a 47, Connor Gherghel of Orwigsburg placed sixth
with a 48, Sydney Yermish of Wynnewood was seventh with a 58, Yash Bhandari of
Livingston, N.J. was eighth with a 62 and Thomas DiGiulio of Sicklerville, N.J.
was ninth with a 70.
