Lumley goes low at Skippack to earn Junior Tour victory



   Jonathan Lumley of Royersford fired a 1-under-par 69 to win the 13-to-15 division in a Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour stop at Skippack Golf Club at Evansburg State Park Wednesday.
   Lumley’s round over the 5,790-yard, par-70 Skippack layout featured five birdies, including three on the course’s four par-5s. Lumley finished seven shots ahead of Gordon Foll of Yardley and Nate Trout of Greentown, who finished in a tie for second, each player carding a 76.
   Davis Flannery of Wayne finished fourth with a 77, Kevin Motil of Sewell, N.J. finished fifth with a 78 and Axel Kalbach of Royersford, Mac Costin of Bryn Mawr and James Omalley of Harleysville shared sixth place at 79. Rounding out the top 10 were Wesley Saunders of Chadds Ford in ninth with an 80 and Drew Clifford of Collegeville in 10th with an 81.
   Buddy Hansen IV of Blue Bell also dominated the Skippack par-5s in claiming the top spot in the 16-to-18 division with an even-par 70, Hansen’s second Junior Tour win in as many days. Hansen made birdies on three of Skippack’s four par-5s. He finished a shot ahead of runnerup Evan Salamone of Coal Township, who posted a 1-over 71.
   Thomas Schaffer of Collegeville and Matthew Davis of Doylestown shared third place, each player carding a 2-over 72. John Cooper of Lansdale took fifth with a 74 and Germantown Academy senior Gaven Giampalmi placed sixth with a 75.
   Rounding out the top 10 were four players who finished tied for seventh at 77, including Andrew Desjardins of Malvern, Lucas LaCava of Collegeville, Simon Asadoorian of Richboro and Nicholas Scott of Harleysvil Mle.
   Casey Oppenheimer had a steady round that featured seven pars and 11 bogeys as she took top honors in the girls 16-to-18 division with an 81. Natalie Jacobs of West Chester finished second with an 84 and Grace Hickey of Downingtown took third with an 87.
Michelle Cox of Allentown carded an 87 to take the top spot in the 13-to-15 division, her first Junior Tour victory. Maya Torpey of Malvern was the runnerup with a 92.
   Kathleen Mark, a Media resident and Rolling Green Golf Club member, finished third with a 96. Madilyn Siuta of Quakertown took fourth with a 100, Amanda Schuebel of King of Prussia was fifth with a 112 and Audrey Schuebel of King of Prussia was sixth with a 117.
   Among the nine-holers, Nicholas Gross of Downingtown birdied the 16th on his way to a first-place finish with a 3-over 38. Joshua Ryan of Norristown and William Huntley of Lansdale shared second place, each posting a 41.
   Jack Davis of Newtown Square finished fourth with a 43, Ajeet Bagga of Blue Bell was fifth with a 44, Kevin Lafond of Blue Bell took sixth with a 45, Charlie Hurchella of Wallingford was seventh with a 51 and Matthew Hurchella of Wallingford was eighth with a 60.
