Quinn wins at Doylestown Open, Perla gets share of third

The William Flynn design at Doylestown Country Club seems to agree with Dave Quinn’s game.
The pro at the Links Golf Club finished with an eagle on the 18th hole Friday to get past Spring-Ford Country Club head pro Rich Steinmetz and capture the Doylestown Open for the second straight year.
The eagle capped a 4-under 68 for Quinn, which gave him a one-shot edge on Steinmetz in the Philadelphia Section PGA event.
Radnor Valley Country Club assistant pro Tony Perla was in a group of five players who finished in a tie for third at 2-under 70. Billy Stewart, an assistant pro at The ACE Club and a product of the junior program at  Llanerch Country Club, was in another group of five players in a tie for eighth at 1-under 71.
Concord Country Club head pro Mike Moses finished in a tie for 17th with, among others, Gulph Mills Golf Club assistant pro Josh Rackley, at 1-over 73. Moses shared second place in the senior division with Brian Kelly of Bucknell Golf Club. Bob Lennon of Wilmington Country Club, who was in that group in a tie for third at 2-under 70, took senior honors.
Among some of the other top finishers at Doylestown were: Radnor Valley head pro George Forster (74, tied for 24th); Anthony  Napoletano (74, tied for 24th) of GolfTEC-King of Prussia; Huntingdon Valley Country Club pro John Allen (75, tied for 34th); M Golf Range instructor Stu Ingraham (76, tied for 41st); Eric Figueroa (78, tied for 54th) of  McCall Golf & Country Club; Overbrook Golf Club head pro Eric Kennedy (78, tied for 54th); and Merion Golf Club assistant pro George Forster (79, tied for 64th).
