Collias is solid at Kennett Square with a 72 that earns him a Junior Tour victory


   Malvern Prep senior Dimitri Collias, a King of Prussia resident, had the day’s best round, a solid 1-over-par 72, to finish atop the leaderboard in the 16-to-18 division in a Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour stop at the Kennett Square Golf & Country Club in Kennett Square Tuesday.
   Collias got off to a fast start with three birdies in a 2-under 33 on the Kennett Square layout’s front nine and another birdie on the back nine to finish two shots clear of Rocco Giannnangeli of Oxford. Giannangeli’s steady round featured 13 pars and one birdie in a 3-over 74.
   Joseph Madden, another Oxford entry, finished a shot behind Giannangeli with a 4-over 75 that featured a run of 10 straight pars.
   Trevor Talerico of West Chester took fourth place with a 77, Nicholas Rafetto of Pottstown was fifth with a 79 and Radnor High junior Chase Stephano was sixth with an 82.
   Graham White of West Chester and Grey Conta of Hummelstown shared seventh place, each carding an 83, and Conor Watson of Malvern and Bradyn Cantwell of Garnet Valley rounded out the top 10 in the older division, each registering an 84 to finish in a tie for ninth place.
   Zachary Antao of Chadds Ford had four birdies and eight pars on his scorecard as he posted a solid 4-over 75 to earn a victory in the 13-to-15 division.
   Michael Dignazio of Wilmington, Del. had a pair of birdies in a front nine of 2-over 37 as he claimed runnerup honors with a 7-over 78.
   Jake Micewski of Broomall and Dylan Ramsey of Lebanon shared third place, each posting an 80. Micewski was 2-over on a back nine that included seven pars.
   Griffin Gaughan of Avondale and Colin Drummond of Exton finished in a tie for fifth place, each signing for an 83.
   A couple of Kennett Square guys, Shane Powelson and Jax Puskar, and Tyler Ott of Birdsboro shared seventh place, all three checking in with an 84. Sean Surowiec of West Chester rounded out the top 10 as he finished alone in 10th place with an 85.
   The best scores turned in among the girls at Kennett Square came from the younger group as Mary Grace Dunigan, who finished fifth in the PIAA Class AAA Championship as a freshman at Unionville last fall, and Sawyer Brockstedt, a rising star from Rehoboth, Del., each carded an 80 to share the top spot in the 13-to-15 division.
   Dunigan, the daughter of Golf Digest Top 50 instructor John Dunigan, had seven pars in a front-nine 39 and added a birdie in a back-nine 41. Brockstedt’s splits were the same, 39-41, with a birdie on each side.
   Curstan Bunch of Wilmington, Del. finished third with a solid 82 that featured a pair of birdies. Mia Pace of Exton took fourth place with an 87 and Silvana Gonzalez, another Exton entry, rounded out the 13-to-15 field with a 91 that left her in fifth place.
   Nimah Narinesingh-Smith posted a solid front nine of 37 on her way to an 82 that gave her top honors in the 16-to-18 division.
   Emma Schotsch, who lost her junior season at Springside Chestnut Hill Academy to the coronavirus pandemic this spring, and Suzie Ahn of Paoli shared second place, each registering a 92. Shotsch had two pars in a front-nine 44 and Ahn finished strong with a 45 on Kennett Square’s incoming nine that featured three pars.
   Harriton senior Niosha Parvizi and Sarah Lawrie of Eagleville finished in a tie for fourth place, each posting a 99. Skye Mada of Cherry Hill, N.J. took sixth place with a 100 and Meredith Beyer of Avondale was seventh with a 103.
   Davis Conaway of East Bradford continued his domination of the coed 12-and-under division as he had three pars and a birdie at the 18th hole for a 7-over 43 that gave him a third straight win over a strong field of nine-holers.
   Carson Holmes of Thorndale has been chasing right behind Conaway in those three straight wins and he made three straight pars to start his round and parred the 18th hole to claim runnerup honors with a 44. Liam McFadden had six bogeys and a par as he finished in third place with a 46.
   Ian Rotto of Kennett Square was a shot behind McFadden in fourth place with a 47. Nate Swalley of Ardmore and Luke Hollerback of Millsboro, Del. shared fifth place, each carding a 49.
   Anthony Proud of Stroudsburg and Luke Fedlukov of Downingtown finished in a tie for seventh place, each signing for a 52 and Luke Mathews of Aston and Michael Liu of Garnet Valley rounded out the top 10, sharing ninth place as each registered a 55.
