Bauer, Davenport share Junior Tour victory as each card a 75 at Indian Valley

Playing a little catch-up on the Philadelphia Junior Tour while concentrating on the Golf Association of Philadelphia’s Junior Boys’ Championship. I’ll get to the Precision Pro Golf Open event at Turtle Creek Golf Club at some point Friday … but first …

Pennridge senior Brendan Bauer and Drew Davenport of Haverford each carded a solid 3-over-par 75 to share the top spot in the 16-to-18 division in a Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour stop Tuesday at Indian Valley Country Club in Telford.
Bauer and Davenport each made birdie on the par-3 sixth hole as each earned a piece of the victory in the older age group.
Rocco Giannangeli of Oxford went 1-under on Indian Valley’s front nine, the second nine of his round, to finish two shots behind the top two in third place with a 77. Justin Pileggi of North Wales was another shot behind Giannangeli in fourth place with a 78.
Nick DiPietro of Swedesboro, N.J. and a couple of Yardley guys, Stephen Cain and Joshua Cicco, finished in a tie for fifth place, each signing for an 81.
Rounding out the top 10 were four players tied for eighth place at 82, including three more players who traveled to Indian Valley from Yardley. Recent Pennsbury graduate Ethan Finkelstein and fellow Yardley residents Ryan Rearden and Christopher Myers were in the group tied for eighth. Rounding out that foursome was Luke Snyder of Exton.
There was another tie atop the 13-to-15 leaderboard as Will Huntley of Lansdale and Scott Hughes of Ambler each posted a 4-over 76. Huntley and Hughes each toured the incoming nine at Indian Valley in 1-over par.
Strath Haven sophomore Tyler Debusschere, who helped the Panthers win the first Central League title in program history last fall, and Kyle Mauro of Paoli shared third place, each carding a 79.
Connor Gherghel of Orwigsburg took fifth place with an 80, Anthony Carson of Broomall was sixth with an 81, Joseph Halferty of Blue Bell was seventh with an 82 and Nick Joyce of Quakertown was eighth with an 83.
Rounding out the top 10 in the 13-to-15 division was a quintet tied for ninth place at 87, including Kyle Spirt of Dresher, Alec Thiele of Philadelphia, Ethan Martin of North Wales, Brady Manning of Downingtown and Evan Rosenstein of Plymouth Meeting.
The best score of the day among the girls came from the winner of the 13-to-15 division as Avery McCrery of Wilmington, Del. had two birdies in a three-hole stretch on her way to a 79.
Rachel Joyce of Quakertown’s Team Joyce was the runnerup to McCrery with a solid 83 that included a 2-under run between the 11th and 15th holes. Clarissa Leung of Villanova had nine pars in an 88 that gave her third place in the division.
Hannah Puc of Marlton, N.J. took fourth place with an 89, Cierra Griffith of Pottstown was fifth with a 95 and Nina Harris of Furlong was sixth with a 102.
There was another tie atop the leaderboard in the 16-to-18 division as Emma Shelby of Hellertown and Paige Cerminaro of Farmingdale, N.J., each signed for an 84. Shelby had birdies at the sixth and 12th holes while Cerminaro matched Shelby’s birdie at the par-3 sixth and also birdied the eighth hole.
Ashley Ea of Perkasie took third place with an 89, Suzie Ahn of Paoli was fourth with a 99 and Skye Mada of Cherry Hill, N.J. was fifth with a 106.
Lawson Leeper of York continued his recent domination among the nine-holers as he made four pars to finish first in the coed 12-and-under division with a 6-over 42.
Trevor Sieben of Medford, N.J. was the runnerup with a steady 45 as he made no worse than bogey on eight of his nine holes. Declan Conner of Swarthmore made no worse than bogey on seven of his nine holes as he finished alone in third place with a 47.
Alaina Carson of Broomall’s Team Carson took fourth place with a 49, Niklas Skjeveland of Jamison was fifth with a 50, Gus Stoltzfus of Lincoln University was sixth with a 54 and Colin Burke of Wilmington, Del. was seventh with a 57.
Brady Kelly of Warrington finished in eighth place with a 59 and Xinyun Zhou of Newtown rounded out the field of nine-holers as he finished ninth with a 68.
