Watson's 76 gives him a Junior Tour victory at Indian Spring


   Spring-Ford sophomore Luke Watson carded a solid 6-over-par 76 to capture top honors in the 16-to-18 division in a Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour stop Sunday at Indian Spring Golf Course in Marlton, N.J.
   Saturday’s wicked winds were replaced by cool, cloudy weather that improved to sunshine as the day wore on. Watson, a Class AAA East Regional qualifier last fall, opened his round with four straight pars and had two birdies on his card over the 6,328-yard, par-70 Indian Spring layout.
Noah Petracci of Atco, N.J. finished with six straight pars to claim runnerup honors with an 8-over 78.
   Carl Michael Lin of Franklinville, N.J. took third place in a scorecard playoff with Plymouth-Whitemarsh sophomore Dylan Gooneratne and Wallingford’s Michael Cardow after all three players carded an 80. Lin birdied the par-5 13th hole and finished his round with three straight pars.
   Ryan Rearden of Yardley finished sixth with an 82 and Stephane de Brechard of Brooklyn, N.Y. was a shot behind Rearden in seventh place at 83.
   Rounding out the top 10 were three players tied for eighth, each carding an 85. That trio included Carl Ernst of Mickleton, N.J., Will Hage of Chadds Ford and Tyler Peters of Berlin, N.J.
   Alexander Feraco of Furlong captured the top spot in the 13-to-15 division in a match of cards with Radnor freshman Chase Stephano after both players carded a 79.
   Feraco had a birdie on his card and finished with four straight pars while Stephano’s steady round featured nine pars.
   There was another scorecard playoff to determine third place and it went to Tyler Kenneson of Exton after Ajeet Bagga of Blue Bell matched Kenneson’s 80. Kenneson’s round included eight pars and a birdie on the par-5 13th hole.
   Scott Hughes of Ambler took fifth with an 81 and Graham White of West Chester and Julian Ciurlino of Philadelphia shared sixth place, each carding an 82. Matthew Pulcinella of Chadds Ford finished eighth with an 85.
   Rounding out the top 10 were three players – Zachary Sandler of Gladwyne, Rishi Khanna of Bryn Mawr and Joseph Fargnoli of Mickleton, N.J. – tied for ninth, each posting an 86.
   Isabella McCloskey of Princeton Junction, N.J. made three pars on the back nine as she finished off a solid 84 that gave her a victory in the girls 16-to-18 division. Julia Li of Hockessin, Del. was the runnerup with a 93 that was highlighted by a birdie at the par-3 sixth hole.
   Skye Mada of Cherry Hills, N.J. recorded four pars on her way to a 97 that enabled her to finish third. Michelle Quinn of Haddon Heights, N.J. took fourth with a 100 and Julia Ergood of Mount Laurel, N.J. was fifth with a 101.
   Team Gooneratne of Plymouth Meeting took home a first-place medal as Rhianna Gooneratne carded a 94 to capture a win in the 13-to-15 division. Gooneratne had four pars on her scorecard. Elora Walker of Philadelphia recorded five pars as she earned runnerup honors with a 100.
   Hank Kancher of Philadelphia bested the field of nine-holers with a 5-over 40 that included three pars in the middle of the round. Ethan Martin of North Wales was a shot behind Kancher in second with a 41 that was highlighted by a pair of birdies.
  Tommy Marshall of Marlton, N.J. took third with a solid 42 that featured four pars. Paul Reilly of West Creek, N.J. finished fourth with a 45, Declan Conner of Swarthmore was fifth with a 48 and Lawson Leeper of York was sixth with a 49.
   Ethan Legarda of Voorhees, N.J. finished seventh with a 51, Emily Mayo of Boothwyn was eighth with a 54, J.P. Klock of Oreland was ninth with a 60, Joseph Collazo of Mount Laurel, N.J. was 10th with a 65 and Joseph Gangemi Jr. of Downingtown was 11th with a 67.
