Trip from Brooklyn results in first Junior Tour win for de Brechard at Heidelberg

   Stephane de Brechard made one of the de Brechard crew of Brooklyn’s occasional forays to the Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour Sunday at Heidelberg Country Club in Bernville, Berks County and emerged with his first career victory in the 16-to-18 division.

   It was a short field among the older guys, but de Brechard still carded a solid 10-over-par 80 over the challenging 6,282-yard, par-70 Heidelberg layout. Justin Cinnamond of West Chester was the runnerup with an 84.

   Evan Jozwiak of Sinking Spring took advantage of a Junior Tour stop close to home to take top honors in the 13-to-15 division with an 84. It was a road trip for Matthew Van Istandal of Haddon Heights, N.J., but he made it worth the ride by finishing second with an 87.

   Jack Novis of Lancaster finished third with an 89 and West Chester’s Benjamin Saggers, who was the winner of the Golf Association of Philadelphia’s Junior-Junior championship over the summer, was fourth with a 90.

   A couple of Bryn Mawr guys, Jackson Reid and Radnor sophomore Rishi Khanna, placed fifth and sixth with respective scores of 91 and 92. Steven Coelho of Malvern finished seventh with a 93, another member of Team de Brechard of Brooklyn, Justin de Brechard, was eighth with a 97, Cyrus Parvizi of Gladwyne was ninth with a 105 and Aiden Scott of Harleysville rounded out the top 10 as he finished alone in 10^th with a 106.

   Esther Park of Wilmington, Del., a senior at the Charter School of Wilmington who was a member of the Delaware team that finished second in the final edition of the USGA Women’s State Team Championship a year ago, captured the top spot in the girls 16-to-18 division with an 80 that featured a birdie on the fifth hole.

   Niosha Parvizi of Gladwyne’s Team Parvizi was the runnerup with a 100. Parvizi is coming off a solid sophomore season at Harriton that saw her earn a trip to the District One Class AAA Championship.

   Mary Grace Dunigan of Kennett Square captured the top spot in the 13-to-15 division with a 91, a round highlighted by three straight pars on the 13^th, 14^th and 15^th holes. Kiley Alt of Washington Crossing was the runnerup with a 124.

   Hunter Probst of Bear Creek bested the field of nine-holers with a 9-over 43 for his seventh win of the still young wraparound 2018-’19 season.

   Jolie Pastorick of Rydal was the runnerup with a 45. The kid is listed as Class of 2027 so that makes her, what, a fourth-grader. Look out.

   Rhianna Gooneratne of Plymouth Meeting finished third with a 48, Grady Hearn of Greentown was fourth with a 56 and Hunter Stetson of Newtown Square was fifth with a 58.
