Ryden shoots even-par at Scotland Run to earn Junior Tour victory



   Alec Ryden of Moorestown, N.J., who has been playing consistent golf all season, matched par with a 71 to take top honors in the 16-to-18 division in a Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour stop at Scotland Run Golf Club in Williamstown, N.J. Monday.
   Ryden had four birdies in putting up an even-par round over the 6,315-yard, par-71 Scotland Run layout.  Cole Shew of West Chester was the runnerup with a 4-over 75.
   Joe Polidoro of Glassboro, N.J. finished third with a 76, Jerry Haftmann of Springfield was fourth with an 80 and Christopher Colman of Wenonah, N.J. and Griffin Foll of Yardley shared fifth place, each posting an 81.
   William Harrison of Washington Crossing finished seventh with an 83, Alex Mayernik of Columbus, N.J. was eighth with an 84 and Andrew Koh of Dresher and Will Horn of Narberth rounded out the top 10 as they finished tied for ninth at 85.
   The usual tiebreaker was not employed, so Joseph Taggart of Broomall and Roy Anderson of Chadds Ford shared the top spot in the 13-to-15 division, each carding a 2-over 73. Taggart and Anderson had seven birdies between them.
   Dylan Gooneratne of Plymouth Meeting finished third with a 75, Alec Stern of Bryn Mawr was fourth with a 79, Jack Cooley of Chadds Ford was fifth with an 80 and Garnet Valley sophomore Jacob Sokalsky and Matthew Hanzel of Sewell, N.J. shared sixth place at 81.
   Jackson Putney of Egg Harbor Township, N.J. finished eighth with an 82, Kevin Motil of Sewell, N.J. was ninth with an 83 and Jack Tarzy of Medford, N.J. rounded out the top 10 at 85.
   Kayla Gutierrez of Little Egg Harbor, N.J. was the only competitor in the 13-to-15 and her 86, which was highlighted by a birdie at the seventh, was the best score posted by any female competitor.
   Camille O’Halloran of Northfield, N.J. took top honors in the 16-to-18 division with a 91 and has won in each of her last two Junior Tour starts. Maya Trujillo of Philadelphia was the runnerup with a 93.
   Hank Kancher of Philadelphia made his Junior Tour debut a winning one as he topped the field of nine-holers with an 8-over 43. Christopher DiRita of Drexel Hill was the runnerup with a 45.
   Kiera Bartholomew of Westampton, N.J. and Daniel Shin of Horsham finished tied for third, each carding a 46. Fiona Gooneratne was the first of two of the Plymouth Meeting Gooneratnes to finish in the top 10 as she placed fifth with a 49.
   Mason Wiener of Holland finished sixth with a 53 and Rhiana Gooneratne was another two shots behind Wiener in seventh with a 55. Matthew Buckley of Media finished eighth with a 59 and Angelo Seravalli of Philadelphia was ninth with a 60.
