Oppenheimer tops Simenson in WGAP Junior Girls final

Casey Oppenheimer was the Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour age 16-to-18 Player of the Year in 2016.
Friday, the Whitemarsh Valley Country Club golfer added a Women’s Golf Association of Philadelphia Junior Girls championship to her resume with a 2-up victory over Grace Simenson of RiverCrest Golf Club & Preserve in the final at Phoenixville Country Club.
Oppenheimer reached the final with a 2 and 1 victory over Lauren Jones of Merion Golf Club while Simenson went to the 18th hole before registering a 1-up semifinal triumph over Llanerch Country Club’s Riley Quartermain, who is headed for Haverford High this fall.
The opening round featured a Jones vs. Jones matchup as Lauren Jones defeated Amanda Jones, 6 and 4. Pretty sure they’re sisters and I know they are teammates at Episcopal Academy.
In the first flight final Thursday, Nimah Narinesingh-Smith of Radley Run Country Club edged Caitlin McGrinder of Applecross Country, 2 and 1.
In the Junior Junior final Thursday, Sarah Koh defeated Nora Blatney of Philadelphia Cricket Club, 3 and 2.
