Mirams fires 69 to claim Junior Tour win at Laurel Creek

William Mirams of Stroudsburg fired a sparkling 2-under-par 69 to capture top honors in the 16-to-18 division in a Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour stop Tuesday at Laurel Creek Country Club in Mount Laurel, N.J.
Mirams had four birdies and no bogeys over the 6,518-yard, par-71 Laurel Creek layout. It was his second Junior Tour victory in a week as he also claimed a win last week at Mahoning Valley Country Club. The Graham Company is the title sponsor of the Junior Tour.
Alec Ryden of Moorestown, N.J. was the runnerup with a 2-over 73. Simon Asadoorian of Richboro, Cole Shew of West Chester and Jason Swartz of Maple Glen shared third place, each posting a 3-over 74.
Joe Polidoro of Glassboro, N.J., Michael Festa of Ambler and Zachary Howard of Cinnaminson, N.J. shared sixth place at 75, William Tone of Moorestown, N.J. finished ninth with a 76 and Andrew Gallagher of Mount Laurel, N.J. rounded out the top 10 with a 77.
Matthew Messenger of Moorestown, N.J. had a bogey-free back nine on his way to a 4-over 75 that gave him a victory in the 13-to-15 division. Matthew Hanzel of Sewell, N.J. was the runnerup with a 76.
Jake Maddaloni of Newtown Square finished third with a 77, Luke Watson of Royersford and Hayden Greer of Moorestown, N.J. were tied for fourth at 78 and Will Garity of Yardley and Joseph Taggart of Broomall shared sixth place at 82.
Jack Davis of Newtown Square finished eighth with an 83 and Jack Ross of Medford Lakes, N.J. and Jackson Putney of Egg Harbor Township, N.J. rounded out the top 10 as they finished tied for ninth, each posting an 84.
Camille O’Halloran of Northfield, N.J. was the only girl who teed it up in the 16-to-18 division and her solid 83 was good for her first Junior Tour victory of the season.
Kathleen Mark, a Media resident and incoming freshman at Episcopal Academy, took top honors in the 13-to-15 division with an 84. Olivia Strigh of Hammonton, N.J. was the runnerup with a 90.
Angelina Tolentino of Mount Laurel, N.J. continued her strong play this summer with a 3-over 39 that topped the field of nine-holers. Tolentino had six pars and three bogeys in her steady round. That’s pretty good playing for a Class of 2024 competitor, which makes her what, a sixth-grader?
Matthew Normand of Lumberton, N.J. was the runnerup with a 40. Nathan Guertler of Merchantville, N.J. finished third with a 41, Ryan Murphy of Newtown was fourth with a 43, Emma Reilly of Warrington was fifth with a 44, Jack Dare of Moorestown, N.J. was sixth with a 46 and Kiera Bartholomew of Westampton, N.J. was seventh with a 47.
Matthew Buckley of Media finished eighth with a 49, Joseph Fargnoli of Laurel Springs, N.J. was ninth with a 54 and Brendan Reilly, likely the younger brother of Emma, rounded out the top 10 with a 57.
