Barbin, Marmorstein win Graham Cup titles at BagBoy Junior Tour Championship

   Zachary Barbin of Elkton, Md. and Brianna Marmorstein of Havertown capped the 2015-16 Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour season Monday by earning the Graham Cup in the respective boys and girls divisions at the BagBoy Junior Tour Championship at Hartefeld National Golf Club in New Garden Township.

   Barbin, who has been solid all summer long, fired a 3-under 69 in breezy conditions over the 6,638-yard, par-72 Hartefeld National layout. Marmorstein, who helped the Academy of Notre Dame win its eighth straight Inter-Ac League title in the spring, carded a 79 on a Hartefeld National layout that measures 5,990 yards for girls.

   Barbin had five birdies on his last 13 holes and had a 4-under 32 on the back nine to take the overall title and top the 16-to-18 division.

   Kohltin Bartlow of Montgomery and J.T. Spina of Schwenksville shared runnerup honors in the division, each carding a 2-over 74.

   Reed Winkler of Wilmington, Del. took fourth with a 75 and Caleb Ryan of Norristown and Jacob Liberman of Radnor shared fifth place at 76. Nathan Guerrini of Collegeville was alone in seventh place with a 77.

   Rounding out the top 10 were four players tied for eighth at 78, including Andrew Gallagher of Mount Laurel, N.J., Jacob Macinanti of Lancaster, Andrew Forjan of York and Ryan Tall of Collegeville.

   Stephen Lorenzo of Lower Gwynedd captured top honors in the 13-to-15 division in a match of cards after finishing in a tie for first with Jonathan Lumley of Royersford and Nikita Romanov of Wilmington, Del., all three players posting a 2-over 74.

   Richard Kline III of Kennett Square and Drue Nicholas of Egg Harbor Township, N.J. finished in a tie for fourth at 76. Akhil Giri of Moorestown, N.J. took sixth with a 77, A.J. Aivazoglou of Glen Mills was seventh with a 78, Morgan Lofland of Paoli was eighth with an 80, Liam Hart of Holland was ninth with an 81 and Hayden Moffat of Hatboro was 10^th with an 82.

   Four players shared 11^th place at 83, including the Kennett Square pair of Christopher Skean and D.J. Scott, Haverford School sophomore Peter Garno and Samuel Walker of Radnor.

   Marmorstein, a junior at Notre Dame, had a pair of birdies in her round of 79 to capture top honors in the 16-to-18 division. Chichester senior Caprian Kan was the runnerup with an 83.

   Alexandra Lowder of Wrightsville and Grace Hickey of Downingtown shared third place, each carding an 85. Genesis Diaz of Elkton, Md. was alone in fifth place with an 86, Karly Brown of Buckingham took sixth with an 88 and Casey Oppenheimer of Conshohocken was seventh with a 90.

Sophia Mancuso of Jamison finished eighth with a 92, Elise Glauser of Newark, Del. was ninth with a 97 and Kiera McGrath of Denver was 10^th with a 99.

   Haley Quickel of Middletown, Del. carded an 83, which included a birdie at the par-5 eighth hole, to top the field in the 13-to-15 division. Sunshine Gu of Yardley was the runnerup, just a shot back of Quickel with an 84.

   Elizabeth Beek of Blue Bell finished third with an 87, Lily Yang of West Chester was fourth with an 88 and Michelle Cox of Allentown and Lily Byrne of Downingtown shared fifth place, each posting a 90. Victoria Kim of West Chester finished seventh with a 92 and Savanna Haas of Pottstown was eighth with a 97.

   In what has been a competitive group of nine-holers all summer, Henry Fish of Malvern had a steady round during which he made just two bogeys to take top honors with a 2-over 38. He finished a shot ahead of William Pabst of Roaring Brook Township, who capped a recent hot streak with a 3-over 39, matching his score at all three stops on the Junior Golf Scoreboard SKIMP Pocono Series last week.

   Hannah Lydic of Ocean View, Del. finished third with a 41 and Evan Barbin of Elkton, Md., Win Thomas of Coatesville and Darren Nolan of Glenside shared fourth place, each carding a 42.

   Joshua Ryan of Norristown and Jack Davis of Newtown Square finished in a tie for seventh at 43, the Downingtown duo of Nicholas Gross and Bret Bergey shared ninth place at 45 and John Olsen of Boalsburg placed 11^th with a 48.

   The Junior Tour Championship is also the perfect occasion to give a shout-out to all the parents who have been shuttling these young golfers to golf courses in three states all year. If the Junior Tour players have improved as golfers this summer, and the numbers say they have, you deserve a little of the credit for that improvement.
