Vance an impressive medalist at U.S. Junior Amateur qualifier

Kyle Vance, the two-time District One Class AAA champion from Methacton, was an impressive winner of the qualifying medal Thursday while earning a spot in next month’s U.S. Junior Amateur.
Vance had rounds of 70 and 66 at the Chesapeake Bay Golf Club in Rising Sun, Md. for a 6-under 136 total. He’ll be headed to The Honors Course in Ooltewah, Tenn. for the U.S. Junior Amateur July 18 to 23.
Vance was seven shots clear of the only other two players to punch their tickets to the U.S. Junior Amateur. Austin Barbin of Elkton, Md. and Jacob Hanzel of Sewell, N.J. finished tied for second at 1-over 143. Barbin added a 3-under 68 to his opening-round 75 while Hanzel had a 2-under 69 in the afternoon after opening with a 74.
