Hertzog's birdie at the last gives him Jack Jolly/Golf Pride Championship win

Country Club of York pro Terry Hertzog made a tap-in birdie to complete a 6-under 65 at Trump National Golf Club Philadelphia in Pine Hill, N.J. Monday to capture the Jack Jolly/Golf Pride Championship.
The event was the fourth in the Philadelphia Section PGA’s Omega Player of the Year Points List presented by the Haverford Trust Company.
Hertzog, who also won senior honors in the event, scorched the front nine at the par-71 Trump National layout with a 5-under 31 that included three straight birdies on seven, eight and nine. He had a birdie and a bogey on the back nine before stuffing his approach at the last to finish with a one-shot edge over Jeff Fick of Chapel Hill and Stu Ingraham, the head of instruction at the M Golf Range in Newtown Square.
Fick had the early lead with his 5-under 66 while Ingraham made a late run into contention before coming up short.
“I had not been playing really well heading into this tournament,” Hertzog told the Philadelphia Section PGA website. “I had posted some ugly numbers earlier this season. After getting off to a great start, I really just tried to stay in the present as I played the back nine.
“In fact, I didn’t know heading into the final hole where I stood in the field, so to have that short putt for what ended up being the winning shot was fantastic.”
Trevor Bensell of Huntingdon Valley Country Club finished alone in fourth with a 4-under 67 and took top honors among the Philadelphia Assistants’ Organization entrants.
Eddie Perrino of Eagle Rock Resort and Dave Quinn of the Links Golf Club shared fifth place at 1-under 69 and Eric McNamee of Golf Galaxy Montgomery and Mike Furey of Mahoning Valley Country Club finished in a tie for seventh at 1-under 70.
Nine players matched par with 71s to finish in a tie for ninth. They were: Applebrook Golf Club head pro Dave McNabb; John Bierkan, the head of instruction at Aronimink Golf Club; Whitford Country Club assistant pro Andrew Turner; Radnor Valley Country Club head pro George Forster; Kevin Kraft of Bumble Bee Hollow; Mike Meisenzahl of Shore Gate Country Club; Dave Pagett of Whitemarsh Valley Country Club; Bob Lennon of Wilmington Country Club; and Greg Farrow of Deerwood Country Club.
