Curran matches par, but ends up second at Iron Valley



   Andrew Curran, a Media resident who helped Malvern Prep capture the Inter-Ac League title as a freshman last fall, matched par in a Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour stop at Iron Valley Golf Club in Lebanon Sunday, but had to settle for second place in the 13-to-15 division.
   Curran carded a 72 over the 6,408-yard, par-72 Iron Valley layout to finish a shot behind Carson Bacha of York, who posted a 1-under 71. Bacha birdied the first, second and third holes during a front-nine 34.
   Andrew Wallace of Narberth finished third at 3-over 75, Nikita Romanov of Wilmington, Del. was fourth with a 76 and Alex Mulrooney of Wilmington, Del. rounded out the top five with a 78.
Robert Falconer of Mechanicsburg took top honors in the 16-to-18 division in a match of cards with Andrew Forjan of York after both toured Iron Valley in 2-over 74. Falconer’s 36 on the back nine decided first place.
   Kohltin Bartlow of Montgomery finished third with a 77 and Spring-Ford standout Benjamin Pochet and Wills Montgomery of Exton finished tied for fourth as each carded a 78.
   Casey Oppenheimer of Conshohocken won the girls 16-to-18 division with a 98, a shot better than Alexandra Lowder of Wrightsville. Kiera McGrath of Denver finished third with a 98.
   Gillyoung Koh of Broomall won the 13-to-15 division with a 102, a shot better than Jessica McClellan of Freeland.
   Among the nine-holers, John Olsen of Boalsburg was the winner with a 41. Brendan Meagher of Swedesboro, N.J. and John Wang of Wilmington, Del. finished tied for second with 43s. Ajeet Baggs of Blue Bell was fourth with a 44 and Michael Meslanka of Taylor rounded out the top five with a 46.
