It didn’t rain everywhere Wednesday, but the hit-or-miss showers did not miss Paxon Hollow Country Club in Marple Township, Delaware County, where a storm forced a Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour event to be halted.
When play was called, four players shared the top spot in the 16-to-18 division, including Connor Watson of Malvern, Kristof Kopecky of Garnet Valley, Brendan Meagher of Swedesboro, N.J. and Drew Davenport of Haverford. Each was at 4-over-par 56 and took home a share of the division crown.
Luke Turse of Hainesport, N.J. and Christopher Campbell of Newtown Square finished in a tie for fifth place, each posting a 5-over 57, a shot behind the top four.
Spring-Ford senior Luke Watson, Ryan Garvey of Media and Jacob Leon of Downingtown finished in a tie for seventh place, each registering a 6-over 58. Nicholas DiPinto of Broomall rounded out the top 10 in the division, carding a 7-over 59 to finish alone in 10th place.
The 13-to-15 age group for the guys never really got going, so that division was a total washout.
Harriton senior Niosha Parvizi had a run of three straight pars on the back nine at Paxon Hollow as she claimed the top spot in the girls 16-to-18 division with a 6-over 46. Springside Chestnut Hill Academy senior Emma Schotsch opened her round with a par on her way to a 56 as she earned runnerup honors.
Clarissa Leung of Villanova had three pars on the front nine on her way to a 10-over 46 that left her atop the leaderboard in the 13-to-15 division. Silvana Gonzalez of Exton made a par on Paxon Hollow’s 340-yard, par-4 13th hole as she carded a 51 to take second place.
Makayla Stone of Garnet Valley made a par on her first hole as she finished a shot behind Gonzalez in third place with a 52. Brynne Mushlin of Berwyn took fourth place with a 53 and Audrey Reese of Richboro rounded out the 13-to-15 field as she finished fifth with a 54.
Davis Conaway, a Malvern Prep seventh-grader from East Bradford who has dominated the coed 12-and-under division during the wraparound 2019-2020 season, birdied the second hole on his way to a 1-over 32 for eight holes as he bested the field of nine-holers.
Lawson Leeper of York birdied the par-5 seventh hole on his way to a 4-over 35 that earned him runnerup honors. Meredith Finger of Wilmington, Del. parred the sixth hole and birdied the seventh as she registered a 5-over 36 to finish in third place.
Declan Conner of Swarthmore took fourth place with a 37, Niklas Skjeveland of Jamison was fifth with a 40 and Jackson Lane of Cinnaminson, N.J. was sixth with a 42.
Rocky Corrigan of Haverford and William Shuford of Wayne shared seventh place, each signing for a 42. Alaina Carson of Broomall and Henry Gailia of Ardmore rounded out the top 10 among the nine-holers as they finished in a tie for ninth place, each carding a 44.
