Watson keeps roll going with a 66 at Spring Hollow that gives him a Junior Tour victory

Spring-Ford junior Luke Watson is certifiably hot.
After blitzing Union League National Golf Club with a 5-under-par 67 to claim a Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour win at the Jersey Shore last weekend, Watson was at it again Saturday.
This time, Watson only traveled across the Schuylkill River from his Royersford home to Spring Hollow Golf Club and recorded a 4-under 66 to make it back-to-back 16-to-18 division Junior Tour wins.
Watson, a Class AAA East Regional qualifier last fall, made an eagle on the par-5 sixth hole and had four birdies, including birdies on the 17th and 18th holes, in his sizzling round.
Christopher Waldmann of Malvern was the runnerup with a 2-over 72 and Eric Miller of West Chester took third place with a 78. Souderton junior Stephen Butler, a PIAA Class AAA qualifier last fall, finished fourth with a 79 and Kyle Bartholomew of Westampton, N.J. was fifth with an 80.
Luke Ciccarelli of Danville and Will Locovare of Warrington shared sixth place, each carding an 81. Michael Walz of Berwyn finished eighth with an 84.
Noah Kim made it a Royersford sweep of the boys divisions as he had 10 pars in a solid 79 to take top honors in the 13-to-15 division. Charles Ota of Blue Bell recorded a birdie at the 15th hole to take second place with an 80.
Hunter Stetson of Newtown Square finished third with an 82 and Ryan Horenci of Lansdale and Daniel Shin of Horsham shared fourth place, each posting an 83. Robert McNelly of Collegeville took sixth place with an 85 and Grady Hearn of Greentown was seventh with an 86.
Josh Baker of West Chester finished in eighth place with a 91, Tiger Li of Newtown was ninth with a 92 and Luke Fazio of Schwenksville rounded out the top 10 as he ended up in 10th place with a 101.
Speaking of hot, Plymouth Meeting’s Rhianna Gooneratne made it 6-for-6 since the Junior Tour turned the calendar to the wraparound 2019-2020 season as she carded a 7-over 77 to claim her sixth straight girls 13-to-15 division win. Gooneratne had four birdies, including three on the back nine, where she recorded a 2-over 37.
Kate Roberts of Phoenixville and Emma Li of Newtown’s Team Li shared runnerup honors, each carding a 91. Mia Pace of Exton took fourth place with a 99 and Brynne Mushlin of Berwyn was fifth with a 118.
Alexandra Rasmussen of Lansdale was the lone entry in the 16-to-18 division and posted a 117 that included a par on the 11th hole.
Nick Linkchorst of Glen Mills made three straight pars on the second, third and fourth holes on his way to a 10-over 45 as he bested the field of nine-holers. Chase Mitstifer of Sinking Spring was the runnerup with a 50.
Max Myers of Furlong finished third with a 55, Michael Liu of Garnet Valley was fourth with a 57 and Joseph Gangemi Jr. of Downingtown was fifth with a 69.
