Gross goes low again to pace a nine-holers-only field at Moorestown

The Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour had a stop Friday for just the 12-and-under nine-holers at the Moorestown Field Club and Nicholas Gross of Downingtown continued his domination of the division.
A day after making three birdies in a 1-under 35 at LedgeRock Golf Club, Gross made three more birdies for a 3-under-par 33 over the 2,968-yard, par-36 Moorestown Field Club layout to claim another victory.
Michael Maslanka of Taylor claimed second place in a scorecard playoff with Tommy Marshall of Marlton, N.J. after each carded a solid 4-over 40. Maslanka was also the runnerup to Gross a day earlier at LedgeRock.
Samuel Feeney of West Chester finished fourth with a 48, Tyler Debusscherre of Wallingford was fifth with a 49 and Daniel Shin of Horsham was sixth with a 50.
Another member of Downingtown’s Team Gross, Evan Gross, finished seventh with a 52. Jillian Burks of Paoli finished eighth with a 53, Ethan Legarda of Voorhees, N.J. was ninth with a 55 and two players, Owen Tilsner of Southampton and Elora Walker of Philadelphia, rounded out the top 10 as they finished tied for 10th, each carding a 58.
