Team Lee accounts for a pair of Junior Tour wins at Hanover

   With a lot of golf options for junior players in mid-June, there wasn’t a huge turnout for the Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour stop Tuesday at Hanover Country Club in Abbotstown, but   Team Lee from York played some great golf in grabbing wins in two divisions.

   Jun Lee birdied the 11^th hole on his way to a 5-over-par 76 over the 6,474-yard, par-71 Hanover layout to claim a two-shot victory in a competitive 13-to-15 division.

   James Ulsh of Carlisle birdied the 17^th hole as he was the runnerup to Lee with a solid 78. Karl Frisk, a PIAA Class AAA East Regional qualifier as a freshman at Spring Grove last fall, was another shot behind Ulsh in third with a 79 as three of the four entrants in the division cracked the 80 mark.

Trevor Snyder of Dover finished fourth with an 86.

   Jun Lee’s big sister Julianne, who finished tied for 11^th in the PIAA Class AAA Championship as a senior at Central York last fall, took top honors in the girls 16-to-18 division with an 81. Julianne Lee got off to a fast start with a birdie at the first.

   McKylie Boreman of New Cumberland was the runnerup with an 85 and Abigail Han of Hummelstown finished third with as 90.

   Logan Snyder, another member of Dover’s Team Snyder, captured the boys 16-to-18 division with an 83 that was highlighted by a birdie on the fourth.

   Brandon Simmons of York finished a shot behind Snyder in second with an 84 and Aiden Fissel of Spring Grove was third with a 99.

   The girls 13-to-15 division was an equally tight battle as Amanda Gerrish of Hummelstown outlasted Paige Richter of Camp Hill by a shot to finish first. Gerrish carded an 82 to collect her second win in as many days as she topped the 13-to-15 field in Monday’s Junior Tour stop at Bent Creek Country Club in Lititz.

   Richter parred four of her last five holes to claim runnerup honors, a shot behind Gerrish with an 83. Lillian McNally of York finished third with a 110.

   Hunter Probst of Bear Creek finished atop of the field of nine-holers with a 6-over 42. Joshua Baker of West Chester took second with a 51 and Mason Tucker of York was third with a 53.
