Asaadorian claims Junior Tour victory with 71 at Landis Creek



   Simon Asaadorian of Richboro had four birdies on his way to a 1-over-par 71 to win the 16-to-18 division in a Philadelphia Section Junior Tour stop Wednesday at Landis Creek Golf Club in Limerick.
   Asaadorian went bogey-free on the front nine on the 6,042-yard, par-70 Landis Creek layout, the old Limerick Golf Club. Christopher Knox of Downingtown had two birdies, one on each side, to take runnerup honors with a solid 2-over 72.
   Luke Fagley of Mohnton finished third with a 74, Brandon Cassidy of Doylestown was fourth with a 76 and Matt Walsh of Chester Springs and Jack Cenci of Warwick shared fifth place, each carding a 78.
   Will Horn of Narberth, Matthew Fleming of Richboro and Michael Hamilton of Berwyn finished tied for seventh at 80 and Samuel Bertrando of West Chester rounded out the top 10 with an 81.
   Jack Cooley of Chadds Ford matched Asaadorian’s 1-over 71 to take top honors in the 13-to-15 division. Like Asaadorian, Cooley had four birdies on his scorecard. Jake Maddaloni of Newtown Square was the runnerup with a 2-over 72 that featured a birdie at the first hole.
   Tyler Zimmer of Bryn Mawr finished third with a 74 and Noah Sim of Ambler was fourth with a 78. Three players – Nick Martin of Audubon, Patrick Traynor of Villanova and Eshan Jituri of Lower Gwynedd – finished tied for fifth, each posting a 79.
   Conrad Benford of Parker Ford finished alone in eighth with an 80. Rounding out the top 10 were three players tied for ninth at 81, including Benjamin Sinrod of Villanova, Christopher Buysse of Paoli and Ryan Sucro of Plymouth Meeting.
   Clare Gimpel of Lafayette Hill had the lowest score among the two female competitors who teed it up at Landis Creek as she claimed the victory in the 13-to-15 division with an 85 that included five pars on the back nine. Christina Carroll of Bear, Del., won the 16-to-18 division with a 90 that featured six pars.
   Nicholas Joyce of Quakertown was 1-over on the three par-3s as he bested the field of nine-holers with a 5-over 39. Kristof Kopecky of Garnet Valley was the runnerup with a 41. Kopecky was coming off a solid showing in the Golf Association of Philadelphia’s Junior-Junior Championship as he reached the championship flight and won a match before falling in the quarterfinals at Phoenixville Country Club earlier in the week.
   Michael Om of Blue Bell finished third with a 43, Cyrus Parvizi of Gladwyne was fourth with a 53, Aidan Scott of Harleysville was fifth with a 54 and Kaitlyn Ferrer of Kennett Square was sixth with a 60.
   Rachel Joyce of the Quakertown Joyces finished seventh with a 61, Luke  Fazio of Schwenksville was eighth with a 63 and Vanessa Newett of Gilbertsville was ninth with a 77.
