Wassell a steady winner in Junior Tour stop at Crossgates

The Philadelphia Section PGA’s Junior Tour headed west for an Easter Sunday stop at Crossgates Golf Club, the home course for the Millersville men’s and women’s golf programs, and a steady round by Tyler Wassell of Lancaster earned him the title in the 16-to-18 age group.
Wassell had one birdie and 14 pars in fashioning a 2-over 74 in summerlike conditions over the 6,131-yard, par-72 Crossgates layout. Grant Gronka of Bloomsburg was  the runnerup with a 4-over 76.
Kaden Kinard of New Castle, Del. finished third with a 78, Logan Hess of Willow Street took fourth with a 79 and Garrett Engle of Harrisburg was fifth with an 83.
Mason Wills of Lititz and Logan Snyder of Dover shared sixth place, each carding an 84. Casey Dao of Elkins Park and Simon Asadoorian of Richboro finished tied for eighth at 86 and Jacob Aaron of Harrisburg rounded out the top 10 with an 87.
Morgan Lofland of Paoli had four birdies on his way to an 80 that earned him the top spot in the 13-to-15 division.  Mason Asadoorian of Richboro (Simon’s younger brother is my guess) was the runnerup with a 98.
Clay Breidenstine of Hummelstown finished third with a 101 and Jaxon Eck of Harrisburg was fourth with a 103.
Maxwell Wager of State College added a win among the nine-holers to his victory Saturday at Five Ponds Golf Course as he carded a 6-over 42 at Crossgates. He finished with a flourish as he birdied the par-5 ninth hole. Benjamin Saggers of West Chester was the runnerup with a 44.
Heather Sanbower of Chambersburg finished third with a 45, Tyler Fortney of Fayetteville was fourth with a 46, and Kayla Maletto of Sinking Spring was fifth with a 48. Jack Seitchik of Dillsburg finished sixth with a 52 and Hunter Probst of Bear Creek was seventh with a 55.
