Weisman has the edge in Junior Tour win at Deerfield



   Jaden Weisman of Malvern prevailed in a scorecard playoff to capture the 16-to-18 division in a Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour stop Sunday at Deerfield in Newark, Del.
   Weisman birdied the par-5 10th hole on his way to a 6-under 76 over the 6,307-yard, par-70 Deerfield layout. Ryan McHugh of Yorklyn, Del. equaled Weisman’s 76, but lost in the match of cards and ended up with runnerup honors.
   Caleb Clements of Lancaster finished third with an 80, Frankie Markiewicz of Middletown, Del. was fourth with an 81 and Austin Lauver of Lancaster was fifth with an 82.
   William Haskell of Middletown, Del. and Nathan Potts and Nikita Romanov, both of Wilmington, Del., shared sixth place, each posting an 83. Rounding out the top 10 were Alec Ryden of Moorestown, N.J. and D.J. Scott of Kennett Square, who finished in a tie for ninth at 84.
   Ryan D’Ariano of West Chester also put up a 76, making a birdie on each nine, to take top honors in the 13-to-15 division. Matt Walsh of Chester Springs was the runnerup with a 79.
   John Wang of Wilmington, Del. and Roy Anderson of Chadds Ford finished in a tie for third, each carding an 83. Jacob Sokalsky of Garnet Valley finished alone in fifth with an 84 and Dylan Gooneratne of Plymouth Meeting and Kevin Motil of Sewel, N.J. shared sixth place at 85.
   Hunter King of Atglen took eighth with an 86, Graham Calhoun of Lititz was ninth with a 90 and Jack Murray of Pottstown rounded out the top 10, taking 10th with a 92.
   Casey Oppenheimer of Conshohocken had three birdies on her way to a 79 that gave her the top spot in the girls’ 16-to-18 division. It was Oppenheimer’s second win of the weekend, coming a day after a victory in a Junior Tour stop at Green Valley Country Club Saturday. Olivia Perry of Middletown, Del. was the runnerup with a 99 and Grace Lombardi of Bear, Del. finished third with a 106.
   Olivia Schwandt of Wilmington, Del. captured top honors in the 13-to-15 division with an 87. Christine Carroll of Bear, Del. was the runnerup with an 88 and Leah Walter of West Chester finished third with a 101.
   Some steady play earned Nicholas Ciocca of Devon the top prize among the nine-holers with a 46. Henry Stone of Kennett Square was the runnerup with a 47.
   Michael Dignazio of Wilmington, Del. finished third with a 48, Sydney Yermish of Wynnewood was fourth with a 49, and Kristop Kopecky of Garnet Valley was fifth with a 50.
   Matthew Pulcinella of Chadds Ford and Sawyer Brockstedt of Rehoboth, Del. finished in a tie for sixth, each posting a 51. Megan Adelman of Bryn Mawr took eighth with a 56, Yash Shandari of Livingston, N.J. was ninth with a 58 and Ella Aghajanian of Newark, Del. rounded out the top 10, finishing 10th with a 78.
