Malvern Prep junior Matt Davis carded a 4-over-par 76 at the Ridge at Back Brook in Ringoes, N.J. Saturday to get a share of second place in the 15-to-19 age group following the first day of an International Junior Golf Tour major championship.

Patrick Ryan of Maplewood, N.J. shares second place with Davis after matching his 76. The IJGT event is a nice tuneup for Davis as he prepares to tee it up in the Bert Linton Memorial that will determine the Inter-Ac League’s individual champion Thursday at Davis’ home course, Aronimink Golf Club.

Haverford School sophomore Andreas Aivazoglou is tied for fifth along with Luke Dougherty of Seagirt, N.J. and Liam Bishop of Bronxville, N.Y. as each posted a 78. Charlie Kovalcik of Yardley and Will McCann of Madison, N.J. are tied for eighth at 79.
Another Haverford School player, senior Davis Rosato, is one of three players tied for 10th at 80. Rosato was joined at that figure by Mike Viggiano of Haworth, N.J. and Kyle Russo of New York.
Steven Lee of Scarsdale, N.Y. is the lone entrant in the boys’ 14-and-under division and carded a 78.
