Kline's 68 at Bent Creek earns him a Junior Tour victory

   Richard Kline III of Kennett Square went low with a 3-under 68 to take top honors in the 13-to-15 division in a Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour stop at Bent Creek Country Club in Lititz Monday.

   Kline made four birdies, two on each side, over the 6,368-yard, par-71 Bent Creek layout. And he needed to be that good because Mason Gattuso of Shavertown was right on his heels with a 2-under 69 that included three birdies.

   Matthew Bilson of Lititz took third with a 76, Jack Murray of Pottstown finished fourth with a 77 and Matt Berkenstock of Lititz and Logan Hess of Willow Street shared fifth place, each player posting a 78.

   The Kennett Square contingent accounted for three of the four players who rounded at the top 10 in a tie for seventh at 79, including W. David Starnes, Christopher Skean and D.J. Scott. Joining them at that figure was Dylan Lasecki of Lansdale.

   Trey Kuntz of Lancaster earned the top spot in the 16-to-18 division in a match of cards with Jacob Macinanti after both players carded a 2-over 73. Kuntz’s 1-under 35 on the back nine, including two birdies, proved to be the difference. Macinanti had three birdies and capped his round with an eagle on the 18^th.

   Teddy Davis of Maple Glen was another shot back in third with a 74. Brian Whelan of Cresco and Mason Wills of Lititz finished in a tie for fourth at 75. Four players – Mechanicsburg’s Ethan Murphy and Davis Clarke, Drew Warner of Bethlehem and Gavin Geiger of Danville – finished in a tie for sixth at 76.

   Rounding out the top 10 were three players – Noel Veitch of Lancaster, Logan Snyder of Dover and Nicky Marrollo of Exton – who finished in a tie for 10^th with 78s.

   In the girls 16-to-18 division, Alexandra Lowder of Wrightsville was the winner with a 90. Lowder finished her round in style with a birdie on the 18^th. Gina Lizzo of Parkesburg and Grace Stillman of Lancaster finished in a tie for second at 91.

   Grace Hickey of Downingtown took fourth with a 95 and Sophia Mancuso of Jamison and Olivia Raihl of Wernersville shared fifth place, each player posting a 97. Three players – Elaina McGarrigle of Wernersville, Ginna Ward of Collegeville and Kiera McGrath of Denver – finished in a tie for seventh at 98. Rounding out the top 10 was Anne Shand of Lancaster, who finished alone in 10^th with a 103.

   Amanda Gerrish of Hummlestown was the only competitor in the 13-to-15 division and took top honors with a solid 88.

   Among the nine-holers, Maxwell Wager of State College led the way with a 2-over 38 that included a birdie on the 13^th. Runnerup Kevin Lafond of Blue Bell was just two shots behind Wager with a 40. Wager made pars on both of the par-3s on the back nine, the 13^th and 15^th.
