Rainy weather doesn't stop Romanov at Sand Barrens

The players who showed up for a Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour stop at the Sand Barrens Golf Club in Cape May Court House, N.J. Sunday got to test out their rain gear.
But the rain showers that necessitated a 40-minute delay at one point didn’t seem to bother some of the boys 13-to-15 division participants.
Nikita Romanov of Wilmington, Del. withstood the elements well enough to record four birdies and win the division with a 1-under 71. And he needed to be that good because Drue Nicholas of Egg Harbor Township, N.J. was a shot back in second with an even-par 72.
Calen Sanderson of Skillman, N.J. finished third with a 74, Jack Sullivan of Petersburg, N.J. was another shot back in fourth with a 75 and Roy Anderson of Chadds Ford and Morgan Lofland of Paoli shared fifth place with each carding an 84.
Andrew Forjan of York took top honors in the 16-to-18 division with a 79. Corbin Babyak of Tafton was a shot back in second with an 80 and Kyle Hayes of Oceanport, N.J. took third with an 81.
Edward Gallagher II of Franklinville, N.J. and Harrison Graham of Wenonah, N.J. shared fourth place, each carding an 84. Casey Carson of Wenonah, N.J. finished sixth with an 86 and Jerry Haftman of Springfield was another two shots back in seventh with an 88.
Casey Oppenheimer of Conshohocken came out on top in the girls 16-to-18 division with an 89. Melissa Landis of Philadelphia was the runnerup with a 96.
Among the nine-holers, John Wang of Wilmington, Del. claimed the victory with a 41. Hannah Lydic of Ocean View, Del. finished second with of 43, Victoria Kim of West Chester placed third with a 48 and  Jack Davis of Newtown Square placed fourth with a 49.
