Mulrooney matches par at Spring Hollow for Junior Tour win

   The Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour capped a busy weekend with a stop at Spring Hollow Golf Club in Spring City Sunday and Alex Mulrooney of Wilmington, Del. captured top honors in the 13-to-15 division with a sparkling even-par 70.

   Mulrooney was consistent all day with 35s on both nines of the 6,006-yard, par-70 Spring Hollow layout. He finished four shots ahead of runnerup Nikita Romanov, also of Wilmington, who had a 4-over 74.

   Hayden Moffat of Hatboro was third with a 76 and Griffin Caulfield of Ambler carded a 77 to take fourth. Nate Trout of Greentown and Jonathan Lumley of Royersford shared fifth place, each carding a 78.

   Andrew Wallace of Narberth finished seventh with a 79. Dylan Gooneratne of Plymouth Meeting and Thomas Butler of Telford finished tied for eighth with 83s and Samuel Bertrando of West Chester and Morgan Lofland of Paoli rounded out the top 10 as they finished tied for 10^th with 84s.

   J.T. Spina of Schwenksville topped the field in the 16-to-18 division with a 3-over 73. Caleb Ryan of Norristown was the runnerup, finishing a shot back of Spina with a 74.

   Colin Walsh of Warminster and Ward McHenry of Spring City shared third place, each carding a 76. Luke Hoffnagle of Hanover, Radnor High junior Jacob Liberman and Drew Steinmetz of Gilbertsville finished tied for fifth with 77s.

   Thomas Schaffer of Collegeville and Ryan Keyes of Parsons finished tied for eighth, each posting a 78 and Kohltin Bartlow of Montgomery rounded out the top 10 with a 79 that left him alone in 10^th place.

   Melissa Landis of Philadelphia edged Gina Lizzo of Parkesburg for the title in the girls 16-to-18 division. Landis carded an 89 to finish a shot ahead of Lizzo, who had a 90. Kate Lupica of Newtown finished third with a 100.

   Gillyoung Koh of Broomall captured the 13-to-15 division with a 92. Sarah Scarpill of Warrington finished second with a 96.

   Joshua Ryan of Norristown continued his domination among the nine-holers, capturing his fourth straight Junior Tour start with a 3-over 38. Nicholas Gross of Downingtown finished second with a 41.

   Jack Davis of Newtown Square carded a 46 to take third, Ajeet Baggs of Blue Bell was fourth with a 48, Hannah Lydic of Ocean View, Del. finished fifth with a 51 and Bryan Sundheim of Collegeville was sixth with a 53.

   The Junior Tour stopped Saturday at the Pine Meadows Golf Complex in Lebanon and Michael Robinson took top honors in the boys 16-to-18 division, surviving a match of cards as well as chilly and showery weather.

   Robinson carded a 1-over 73 over the 6,319-yard, par-72 Pine Meadows layout, a score that was matched by Matthew Kreider of Ephrata and Paul Fedele of Easton. But Robinson’s 1-under 35 on the back nine earned him the title.

   Jacob Macinanti of Lancaster took fourth with a 74 and Ryan Tall of Collegeville placed fifth with a 75. Brent Schoeller of Jenkintown and Casey Lyons of Medford Lakes, N.J. shared sixth place, each carding a 76.

   Montgomery’s Bartlow and Frederick Hammer of Wayne finished tied for eighth with 77s and Nathan Guerrini of Collegeville rounded out the top 10 with a 78 that left him alone in 10^th.

   Luke Watson of Royersford bested the field in the 13-to-15 division with a 3-over 75. Ryan D’Ariano of West Chester and Wilmington’s Romanov finished tied for second, each posting a 76.

Logan Hess of Willow Street and Christopher Skean of Kennett Square shared fourth place with 78s and Troy Kelleher of Clarks Summit and Andrew Curran, a freshman on Malvern Prep’s Inter-Ac League championship team last fall, finished tied for sixth with 79s.

   Zak Summy of Media finished eighth with an 81, Jordan Pick of Sugarloaf was ninth with an 83 and Jun Lee of York was 10^th with an 84.

   Julianne Lee of York took top honors in the girls 16-to-18 division with a 79. Grace Stillman of Lancaster was four shots back in second with an 83. Elaina McGarrigle of Wernersville took third with a 101.

   Anne McCormick of Harrisburg captured the 13-to-15 division with a 90. That was two shots better than runnerup Jessica McClellan of Freeland, who signed for a 92. Grace Lu of Edison, N.J. took third with a 104 and Caitlyn Hagerty of Glen Mills finished fourth with a 106.

   Topping the nine-holers was – who else? – Joshua Ryan of Norristown who started his weekend sweep of the division with a sparkling 1-under 35. Michael Maslanka of Taylors was the runnerup with a 41.

   Downingtown’s Gross kicked off a strong weekend showing by taking third with a 43. Ocean View’s Lydic shared fourth place with Benjamin Saggers of West Chester, each carding a 44.     Zachary Sandler of Gladwyne finished sixth with a 47, Connor Gherghel of Orwigsburg took seventh with a 49, Victoria Kim of West Chester was eighth with a 51 and Jack Novis of Lebanon was ninth with a 58.
