Lumley answers challenge in Junior Tour stop at Ramblewood

Ramblewood Country Club in Mount Laurel, N.J. proved to be a tough challenge in a Philadelphia Section PGA Junior Tour stop Saturday, but Jonathan Lumley of Royersford had enough game to post a 4-over 76 for the day’s best round.
Lumley toured the back nine at the 6,358-yard (at its longest), par-72 Ramblewood layout in 1-over 37 to win top honors in the 13-to-15 division.
Ryan D’Ariano of West Chester and Nikita Romanov of Wilmington, Del. Were the only players in the field to break 80 as they tied for second behind Lumley in the 13-to-15 division with 79s.
Clement Shao of Warren, N.J. won the 16-to-18 division in a scorecard playoff with Adam Motovidlak of Harvey’s Lake after both carded 80s. Birdies on 15 and 17 gave Shao the edge in the match of cards. Three players – Davis Rosato of Villanova, Evan McNally of Medford, N.J. and Thomas Bird of Lititz – shared third place with 81s.
It took another scorecard playoff to decide the girls 13-to-15 division and it went to Sunshine Gu of Yardley after Paige Cerminaro of Farmingdale, N.J. matched Gu’s 86. Elizabeth Beek of Blue Bell and Kara Kniezewski of Blue Bell finished tied for third at 87 in the tightly contested division.
Among the nine-holers, John Wang of Wilmington, Del. led the way with a 42, capping the round with a birdie. Ajeet Bagga of Blue Bell finished second with a 49 and Luca Gherardi of Hammonton, N.J. and Gwendolyn Powell of Madison Township finished tied for third with 60s.
